In the NO Podcast Episode 100: Special Guest Jason Smith and beating the Clips

Jason Smith joins us for the 100th In the NO Podcast to talk about how he developed his game, his relationship with the coaches, a solution to him getting smacked in the face all the time, and I try twice to get him to toss Monty Williams under the bus.

Then we talk beating the Clippers.

Thanks to all of you for your support. 100 episodes. Who would have thought?

  1. The half shout-out about the CP3/Anderson comment made my day, so no worries about forgetting I said it. I know you were losing a lot of sleep about it

Met Jason Smith at the lottery party at Manning’s, and this reinforces what I thought: a classy dude

I love that Anderson’s 3s are always shot with balance. While I wouldn’t typically encourage step-back 3s, Anderson is always square to the basket, and his shot just looks so pure. He is so fun to watch

Awesome podcast for the 100th. So glad to be a fan of a team that puts out quality material all the time.

  2. Congrats guys! Hornets247 has made following the Hornets an absolute pleasure and I will forever maintain my belief that you are a step above the rest of the truehoop network. In the NO is a big part of this blogs success and I will always be a supporter.

Can’t wait to listen to the pod on my drive to work tomorrow morning.

Peace and love from Sydney, Australia!

    Yeaaaaahhhhh Hornets!

  3. Congrats on the 100th podcast, the Number 1 place to get reliable hornets information and not just the hornets but all basketball in general. i can definitely say that i have learned so much in the 4 years i’ve been apart of the site. Been here since day one and will continue to support and listen. keep up the excellent work guys.

  4. loved the podcast. (as always) love jason smith. great work from great people. Oh yeah and great win!

*note: there is somewhat of an audio overlap (22:40ish – 23:10ish) from the saying goodbyes to jason to when you guys start discussing. I think I made it out of that 30 seconds with all the necessary info, but i thought yall might like to know if it was something that is retroactively fixable.

  5. Even though you couldn’t get Dell Demps for the 100th episode, this is pretty darn special to get a hard working and intelligent basketball player in Jason Smith on the podcast. I salute you Ryan and Michael for making this one of my favorite podcasts to listen to on a regular basis. I can’t get enough of the stuff you guys put out. Only wish you did more Vokle and in game stuff to interact with the fan base more or have fans of the Hornets call in to ask questions.

I love this site and the podcast so thank you for making life a better on an everyday basis.

    • As Mike said, there have been some subtle changes for the better, and some not-so-subtle are coming.

When we clear off some of this dangling work, we’ll put that effort into more improvements.

      Your suggestions are being noted.

Thanks for sticking around and taking the time to be a part of the community.

      • I made the comment before fully listening to the podcast. After listening all the way through (even through the coughs), I always enjoy the banter/discussion between Ryan and Michael. Plus Jason, just from talking to you last year and discussing some wrestling during the Hornets games, I felt it made a connection of sorts that brings Hornets fans together who aren’t just in Louisiana or in the region but globally also.

I appreciate all the work, effort, and love that is put into making this the best site of Hornets related information on the internet.

  6. Congratulations on the 100th episode guys. As a Hornets fan from the UK we don’t get ANY coverage of the NBA over here, so I really appreciate the time you put in to providing us with this podcast. It helps me stay in touch with what’s going on with the Hornets which I’d struggle to do without it. Keep up the good work guys!

  7. First off boys just wanted to say congrats on the 100th podcast-it was very fitting your guest was none other than fan favorite (and maybe my favorite Hornet…ok well he’s still behind AD, Ryno, Grevis but he’s up there) and ultimate team guy Jason Smith. We’ve been singing his praises for awhile now and hopefully he starts getting some national recognition for his play and team-first attitude because he is truly an exemplary model of what this league should be about.

As for Mike and Ryan, you guys are the best. Love having discussions with you guys on Twitter during the game and I can say with confidence that Hornets 24/7, At The Hive, etc. are THE BEST fan sites in the league for intelligent discussion and debate and the content you guys put out is 2nd to none. Keep up the good work, here’s to another 100 podcasts, and Go Hornets!

  8. I absolutely love the podcast. Been listening since 72, farewell to okafor and ariza and listened to every one since and listened to about 10-20 of 1-72. Is there anywhere to listen to the first podcast? It’s not on iTunes or the podcast app and I would love to hear how the first one went.

But love the pod and keep up the good work.

  9. I went back and listened to every podcast earlier this year. Thank you for all the knowledge about my favorite team. The interview with J Smitty was great. Thanks again!
