The Bulls Gored the Hornets
Normally, I try to do a pretty good job with my recaps. Give a few salient bits of information, point out some things the Hornets did wrong, some things they did right. However, I don’t have a lot to say about this game. Our outside shots weren’t falling and the Bulls were able to pack […]

Just wondering…
…is it just me, or does the opposing team start going on large runs whenever Posey is in? It seems like the only way to stop the bleeding is to put in four starters with him, or take him out of the game. No idea why, I’ll have to look at the numbers later.

Game On: Hornets @ Bulls
Ta tee ta toe. The Hornets wrap up their four-game road trip tonight in Chicago. The Bulls are also on a segababa, having lost in Philly last night, their third straight defeat. That gives them a 29-37 record overall, still in the mix with five other teams for the final playoff spot in the East. […]

The Hornets beat the Bucks
Rough start for both teams tonight in Milwaukee. Effort and hustle was there but nobody could buy a bucket. 14-14 after Q1. Our bench woes then put us in yet another hole and the starters had to work hard to get the lead back before halftime. Great interior D and excellent rebounding got it done. […]

Game On: Hornets @ Bucks
Let’s go get them Bucks. We’ve won eight of nine, Peja is not expected to play (how bad is that back anyway?). The Bucks are 30-37 on the season, 19-13 at home, fighting to stay ahead of several teams for the final playoff spot in the East. They’ve lost four of five coming into this […]

We’re Doing Just Fine, Thank You Very Much
I’m not one to rant, but I’m going to let loose with one. I’m sick of clueless commentators using the Hornets as a soap box. They ripped the Hornet’s choice of city when they moved to New Orleans. They ripped the inability to keep Magloire and Baron Davis happy and the resulting trades. They declared […]

The Hornets beat the Wizards
The Hornets bounced back from Monday’s loss in Atlanta by beating the Wizards in D.C. tonight, 109-98. Since the New Orleans bench has been the hot topic of conversation recently, I’ll start out talking about the reserves in this one. Byron did shake things up some. He subbed out three starters in the first quarter: […]

Game On: Hornets @ Wizards
Real quick: Hornets are in D.C. to take on the Wizards, game tips at 6 p.m. Central. We beat them 97-85 in New Orleans back in late December. They’re 15-49 on the season, 10-22 at home, won in Minnesota on Monday to snap a five-game losing streak. The Wizards have a bunch of guys injured […]

Time to use ‘Expelliarmus’ on the Wizards
Matchup: Hornets(39-23) @ Wizards(15-49) Off Efficiency: Hornets 106.9(9th), Wizards 101.4(26th)Def Efficiency: Hornets 103.4(9th), Wizards 110.6(29th) The Wizards are 3-7 in their last ten, which is pretty much the same winning percentage they’ve put up all year. Four out of every five players on their team isn’t interested in defense, and unlike the previous two years, […]

A Mediocre Bench isn’t Going to Cut It
During the Hawks preview I pretty much killed the Hornets bench, and a few of you pointed out that the Hornets don’t really have the worst bench in the league like I was implying. That’s true, but there is a reason why I’ve soured on our bench so much – and it’s not just the […]

The Hawks Beat the Hornets
So the winning streak ended tonight as the Hornets went into Atlanta and got outworked for the win. A lot of the game boiled down to effort, but I have to give a lot of credit to the Atlanta defense – after getting torched in the first quarter, they stiffened their defense and always had […]
-
Game On: Hornets @ Hawks
Payback time. The Hornets start their four-game road trip this evening in Atlanta, home of those same Hawks who handed us our first loss of the season back on November 5. The 35-28 Hawks don’t seem to be quite as dangerous now as they were earlier in the season, having lost seven of their last […]

Time to Down the Hawks
After talking about Julian Wright v Byron Scott, it’s time to hit the game tonight. Matchup: Hornets(39-22) @ Hawks(35-28) Off Efficiency: Hornets 107.2(8th), Hawks 106.4(10th)Def Efficiency: Hornets 103.4(10th), Hawks 104.8(15th) The Hornets kick off a four-game road trip tonight, visiting Atlanta, which is the only above .500 team on the trip. It’ll be a good […]

Julian Wright vs the Conservatism of Byron Scott
Julian Wright had a bit of a breakout game on Saturday against the Thunder – something every Hornets fan has rather desperately wanted to see all season. I can’t express the joy I felt watching Paul run a break multiple times that game with players filling both wings – and not only did Wright […]

The Hornets beat the Thunder
Twas a strange yet successful night of basketball at the Arena. The Hornets were magnificent in the first and fourth quarters, and sucked mightily in between. So much so that we blew an early 13-point advantage and saw the Thunder briefly steal the lead in the third quarter. A big part of the letdown in […]
-
Game On: Thunder @ Hornets
Tonight the Hornets try to extend their season-high winning streak to seven games when they take on the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder. Game tips a little after 7 p.m. Central. The Thunder are riding their own season-high winning streak; a whopping three games. That’s pretty impressive though when you consider Kevin Durant (ankle) has missed […]

Time to Silence the Thunder
First – I love your banners Dariusz . . . but that one hurts. Matchup: Thunder(16-45) @ Hornets(38-22) Off Efficiency: Thunder 100.7(28th), Hornets 107.1(8th)Def Efficiency: Thunder 107.3(23rd), Hornets 103.6(10th) Despite injuries to cornerstones Durant and Green, the Thunder have ripped off their first three-game winning streak of the year. The past couple games have seen […]
-
The Hornets Beat the Mavericks
That’s six in a row, as the Hornets won again tonight, thumping the Dallas Mavericks by sixteen and dominating the second half. The Hornets bench was cleared with 2:46 left in the game, which is pretty much unheard of with Byron Scott – he always plays his starters way too much in a blowout(Carlisle had […]

Game On: Mavericks @ Hornets
Big game tonight as the Hornets battle the Mavs in New Orleans. The game tips a little after 7 p.m. Central on TNT. The Mavs beat the Spurs 107-102 in Dallas last night, a day after Mark Cuban called out the whole team. Dallas are 37-24 on the season, just a game behind us in […]
