The New Orleans Pelicans (20-33) host the NBA worst Philadelphia 76’ers (8-45) and their vaunted, resultless process. The game is at 7pm CT (UTC -6) at the Smoothie King Center, and can be found on Fox Sports New Orleans and the Pelicans Radio Network, 99.5 FM locally.

There are no changes to the Pelicans starting lineup: Davis, Asik, Gee, Cunningham, and Cole. If that changes after the signing of Bryce Dejean-Jones, we’ll try to let you know. (Update: Dejean-Jones is getting thr start). Gordon is practicing but still listed as Out, and Evans and Pondexter will not return this season.

Gentry said pre-game that the remaining 29 games are a new season for them. Well, they better start 1-0 against the Sixers. Sure, they’ve won 8 games and the Pelicans are down 3 pieces, including 2 8-figure guys, but the Pelicans should win this game. If it’s a new season, then I want to see some new plays, some new energy, and maybe some new rotations. Lately, we saw more use of the bigs and just “going bigger” if not “going big.” I’d like to see more of that.

Also, we need to see more out of Davis. I don’t care if his stats don’t change a lick, but he has to at least be a check to stop some of the errors by the team. He can defer some of the leadership to others, but he can’t tolerate poor play.

If it’s a new season, fine, but you need to act like it starting now.
