Anthony Davis has his streetcar operating license

The Pelicans debuted a new video intro, theme song, and possible battle cry last night before tip-off in Portland. If you missed it, get caught up:

It’s a huge improvement over hype videos of the past. For one, it has multiple locations. Adding a local celebrity, Trombone Shorty, goes a long way. And perhaps the best part of the video is the reveal that Anthony Davis now has his streetcar operating license.

At just :12 into the video this shocking new development is revealed. Anthony Davis added a lot more than a three-point shot to his repertoire this offseason. He also added the ability to navigate the St. Charles streetcar line, chock full of nervous tourists, service industry employees, and probably now, basketball fans looking for an excuse to meet the eater of basketball worlds. You can ask Davis for an autograph but please don’t ask for change on the streetcar. And exit out of the back, you lunatic.

Be on the lookout for another piece from this same crew with Mr. Trombone Shorty walking ’round the Treme with Coach Gentry. But be more on the lookout for me finding every excuse to just spend entire days on the streetcar getting to know Mr. Davis.
