  1. I totally agree that we need to trade our pick asap for a position of need. The odds are that this will be the picks highest value if Gordon comes back along with our rookies getting better as they get more acclimated to the league. So we sell high on the pick. This also helps so we don’t feel bad if and win we start winning late and affecting the draft stock. I also would hope Lopez continues to look superb and we can sell high with him as well. I like Lopez and wouldn’t mind if we kept him but I don’t know if he’ll ever be able to become a good enough defensive rebounder. Not to mention that I would LOVE if we took a flyer on Greg Oden this offseason to use as our backup Center. We all know his potential and the risk shouldn’t be high because he won’t shouldn’t be offered a lot of money. I love the idea of Vasquez as a stop gap SF. The dude is 6’6 so I think he can hold his own more than one would think. Plus that allows Rivers to start at PG and get used to how he and Gordon will work together which is something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. Another great podcast, Geaux Hornets.

  2. If you guys want to trade Lopez while his value is high, the Celtics just signed Jarvis Varnado from the D-League..

My friends and I were talking basketball tonight, and I still can’t fathom having Gordon back. I’d be thrilled with mediocre scoring from guards, and I do think it benefits both Anderson and Vasquez. I think Davis, however, takes the biggest leap. Though Anderson will be open more, I think part of the reason he’s been so hot is that he doesn’t have to think about whether or not a shot is good. basically anything he throws up is efficient for the offense we have now. I can’t believe the effect he’s had on this offense. Anyway, I think Davis gets a lot more open runs to the rim with a guard that can draw attention away from him, especially since Gordon is so good splitting defenders out of P&Rs. Wish Davis would stop trying to throw down everything with one hand though. Also, I wish Gordon didn’t jump off of one leg for dunks. He always seems off balance when he does it. Exciting, yeah, but give me 82 games of layups over 4 games of dunks.

I hope Davis grows only a little more.. You guys named a few players, but I think the perfect example of who we don’t want Ralph Sampson. And clearly, I mean his injury history, not his talent level

  3. You mentioned in the podcast you want a 15PER guard. You already have Brian Roberts 15.87, and then a little below G.Vasquez 14,50.

  4. If Eric Gordon comes back and consistently puts up performances like he did against the Rockets and the Jazz in the back end of last season then the value of our 2013 1st rnd pick’s value will drop by Feb’s trade deadline because we will win more then we lose. So Dell has a tough choice to make if they are thinking of using that pick to make a significant trade, especially if Gordon has another set back. Also I think Rivers & Gordon should be our back-court down the stretch so Vasquez moving to SF in that instance could be an option.

  5. I’m done with David Wesley , I like to pretend Bob and Gil are still getting together having alligator Po-boys , Mcgregorstrating.

I would have really enjoyed them calling that Indiana game down the stretch when my favorite all time hornet was doing it to us.
