Hornets fans get to peek behind the kimono that veils one aspect of basketball operations.

The New Orleans Hornets continue their annual open practice tradition this Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m – Noon, CDT.

The Hornets Open Practice is FREE and open to the general public! The event will include:

• Team and coaching staff introductions
• Full team practice
• Appearances by Hugo and the Honeybees
• Merchandise specials with items up to 25% off in the Hornets’ Nest

Parking is FREE in Mercedes-Benz Superdome Lot 2 & Auxiliary Lot 3!

Concession stands will be open.

In prior years, coaches were mic’ed up, so you can hear instruction as it happens. You see the entire workout from stretches and drills, to mock games, to some three-point contest or whatever that might break out for the enjoyment of the fans. There are normally giveaways, etc. from Host Rob Nice, but things could, of course, be different now.

Watching the practice, player interaction, and how the coaches operate is really a nice treat for those who want to look one layer deeper into the team, how it works, and how it does not work . . . read: who might be on the way up, and who might be on the way out.

Plus, this year, Hornets fans needs as much time with the new faces as they can get, especially when one of them is Anthony Davis.

Fans, give a thanks to Joe for getting all these details together, not all of which were in the mass communications from the team.

For those with Hornets247 T-shirts, wear them. For those without, look for the shirts and introduce yourself. Also, there will be a chance to get tickets to opening night for those seen with a Hornets247 shirt.

Have a good time, and look for some of the readers and writers.
