Game On: Spurs @ Hornets

The New Orleans Hornets will look to snap out of their funk tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. Plus, Xavier Henry will likely make his debut.

Carl Landry will look to improve on his late-game free throw shooting this time around

The Hornets take on the Spurts tonight at the Hive. Xavier Henry will likely see some time at shooting guard in his first game as an active member of the New Orleans Hornets.  James Herbert and our writers talked about the matchups earlier in the 3-on-3, and there isn’t much optimism for a win among the group. McNamara predicts a win, but I’m not sure he believes himself.

I’m not 100 percent sure about the chat yet since the internet was giving me a really hard time last game. I’d guess that we won’t do it tonight and that we will resume for the next game.

  1. 2 words regarding Eric Gordon situation:

    XAVIER HENRY

Now we will know what we likely have in the guy by season’s end as if he comes back 100% and plays defense there is a SUPER HIGH chance he’d be starting.

  2. Hornets starting with some HOT shooting 9-12(75%) & 2-3(67%) from deep, I like what I see in the first half of the first quarter, we got this in the bag if we can do this for 3 more quarters

  3. Everyone, call your loved ones and pay your last respects . . . Ariza has 12 points on 7 shots.

And check out Carl getting to the line. 2.5 pts per shot at the half? That’s hard to do, but not as hard as it is for Ariza to go over 1.5.

  4. At end of 3rd Quarter, three guys with +9 or +10: Ariza, and Bellinelli, and Smith. The weird thing is the minutes two needed to do it: Bellinelli (17) and Smith (15). Who would have thunk it!

    • And Smith never sees a 4th Quarter minute while Kaman does nothing to help in the 4th Quarter!!! Ouch, that hurt us.

  5. Trey Johnson is going to be the most tired player on an inactive list ever, he jumps up after every bucket and gets his clap on, not gna lie I love it

  6. Every night our guys leave everything out on the floor. Their record might not be great but I’m proud of our team and damn proud to be a Hornets fan. Things will turn around eventually, and when they do it’ll be sweetest of all for all the 24/7 community. Hold your heads up Hornets, we’ll get this thing turned around.

  7. This the lowest i’ve ever seen this team while the pundits are laughing at this franchise as it sinks into purgatory.

      • J is sort of a loose cannon that also blows in the wind.

He doesn’t mean what he’s saying literally, I think. I think he’s being expressive, if uncomfortably so at times.

I’ve seen worse. I’m not a fan of banning.

Me and you both would have been gone long ago if Hornets247 were a . . . trigger happy . . . as some internet places, yeah?

      • I think it’s better not to F-Bomb when suggesting others be banned (or any time for that matter). I am sure there are kids reading this website.

      • If Ryan didn’t sound like a drunken navy me on the podcast today, I would have edited it out for that reason.

The F word is real, and DogHouse was being just as passionate as J. Doghouse is all passion. Tons of respect for his passion, and he’s earned some capital, and he’s just spent it.

Your opinion is noted, and I typically feel the same way . . . today, in this case, I let it go.

But, the line is drawn here.
