The changing of the point guard

Since the CP3 trade the debate is.Is Jarrett Jack the new PG or we’re going sign someone in free agency or trade yeah filling the volid is going to be tough with all the naysayers especialty on ESPN which i channel blocked recently. Thus if this team can make some moves before the regular season starts this team could be a susprise to some.If we would to sign someone like Gilbert Arenas who played 70 games with the Magic last season and started 16 a 10 year veteran that would be fan atraction in the arena besides Eric Gordon but who knows whats going to happene til the regular season starts but who you think Hornets should sign as a back up PG or starter?

  1. Arenas is a BAD CHOICE he is not a really big TEAM guy and I see the hornets becoming a San Antonio/Dallas type team where they find a Star(maybe Gordon) and surround them with good starters and a great bench (full team basketball)
I mean look at the roster the are 2-3 players away from becoming a really good team.

PGs I think can fit the system
Jarret Jack (yea he was a back up but who says he cant become a SOLID PG he has the experience and plays D and he can score ,so he should be given the chance. I think he will give the Hornets 15ppg 5ast 3rebs a game for the Hornets. He is NO CP3 but really who can you see can fill CP3s shoes at the PG. I think JACK will be the LEADER of the Hornets)

Dj Augustin (creates his own shots and can pass the ball but defense is suspect
but it can be improved. I think he would give Hornets 14ppg 7ast 2rebs which is solid for the system I see the Hornets running )***might have to trade Kaman or Arzia

Nate Robinson (explosive OFFENSE but off the bench,he would buy in to TEAM system and be the spark the bench needs. Also a fan favorite)

Arron Brooks(playing over seas but when he gets back he would be instant OFFENSE)

Willie Green would be a good pick up because he knows the system (good in this short season) and him an Jack would be a solid(not entertaining ) 1/2 punch at PG(most likely what Hornets will do)

Carlos Arroylo good veteran PG can score and play a little D but he would be a solid back up

Last PG would have to come in a trade( same as Augustin)
Kyle Lowery a solid PG would play D and can help Gordon grow
    Solid PG would average 15ppg 5ast 3rebs

  2. Bring back Monty’s guy in Willie Green, let him be the back up PG with until Brooks can return then sign him!

Or do this… trade Kaman to the Hawks for Hinrich and Hawks 1st Rounder!

  3. Arenas and Stuckey??? Jarett Jack is better than both of those bums. Arenas is an overpaid, injury prone has-been headcase and Stucky is an overpaid, black hole on offense, never-was headcase. No thanks.

  4. The guy that would best fit the Hornets is Patty Mills! He’s ultra fast, does not hesitate to pull the trigger on an open shot AND will play defense. This guy when given a reall shot in the NBA will not only deliver will become a fan favourite!

  5. Yeah, I am a big fan of RFAs Aaron Brooks and Patty Mills. They are quick pure PGs who play good on-ball defense. Brooks won’t be available until March because he (foolishly) chose to play in China. Mills is available now and the worst thing that can happen is Portland matches our offer. (I am also interested in seeing what shakes out with the two back-up PGs for the Clippers, especially with Bledsoe once Williams returns.)

No one else mentioned in this thread is worth considering, except possible N.O. native DJ Augustin.

I expect the Hornets to make a run at Mills, or a young unsigned player who is currently a back-up PG. If they don’t get Mills, I expect them to wait and see where their two 1st Round draft picks might fall, and see how bad their PG situation is. Then, if necessary, they can trade the odd man out at back-up SF (Q-Pon or Aminu) and/or the worst 2012 1st Rounder for a young quality PG.

Unless we can get Mills now, waiting will likely net a huge young piece, a starting PG, for the Hornets. They may even be able to get Brooks for the qualifying offer they make, without trading a player and/or a pick. That would be nice!

  6. Best thing is to trade for D.J. Augustin (potential to be a poor mans CP3 or jameer Nelson type)

Or get a R.Sessions PG from Cleveland (he is a better version of Jack, just a solid all around PG)

  7. Patty Mills, like all the NBA players in China, will not be available until March when the Chinese League winds up. Patty Mills is currently pulling apart the Chinese league – in the top 5 scorers (above Brooks), and top 5 for steals. Averaging around 27 points a game with highs of 39 and 42 points a game. This kid’s cheap and his NBA career is not over yet…
