Best quote of training camp so far just came out of Hornets camp. In a brief session with the media, Monty Williams laid this gem– “I’d rather tongue kiss a maggot than tweet or blog.”
Other highlights include the knowledge that the team is not limiting Chris Paul at all in practice as a result of the trade rumors, Monty says Quincy Pondexter is in excellent shape and he expects to see improvement this year, Trevor Ariza has been working on his mid-range game and ball handing, and there are a LOT of guys who I’ve never seen before.
Also, Monty is not making excuses, even with most of the team coming directly from the D-League– “We tend to believe that whoever we have… that no matter who you have if you prepare the right way you have a chance to win”
