According to ESPN.com, the Paul to the Lakers trade has been re-submitted to the front office. No details yet on the changes in the trade. Wonder what will happen this time . . .

I think Okafor will be added to the Lakers deal, because in the David West deal to the Celtics, the Hornets were going to get Jermaine O’Neal back as one of the players in the deal.
Jermaine O’Neal would fill a BIG-Rotation need.

I heard we wasnt keeping O’neal though. I don’t like him as a starting center. That would be a downgrade from Okafor.
yeah as much as I want to get rid of Okafor, we would get screwed out of a deal if we give up West for J. O’Neal. they should’ve just give up West and Ariza for Rajon Rando. do you know how it would look if we get him in a trade, and the 3 team trade w./ Laker and Rockets. Then we should trade Okafor for the one person I been said we should trade for, but some people thought it was dumb……. Javale McGee. if not him then Roy Hibbert. we grab one of those guys. D.J. is untouchable, and JMG is high on Potential and cheap in cash w/ a tall back-up in Double A.A.!!! Our line-up would be do awesome

I dont see why West would go to BOS with that team as is. Why would he settle for a bench role?? Plus BOS just got Bass, how do they have enough minutes for KG, Bass, and West? Just doesn’t make sense…

What if LAL was so desperate for a true PG in that new system that they are taking back Okafor and replacing Odom with Bynum?? I think we win huge in that deal. Bynum, Scola, Martin, etc to NOH, Okafor, CP3 to LAL, Gasol to HOU.
Yeah But if they did that, They would ultimately being losing ALOT more than they could possibly gain from JUST Chris Paul with no gaurantee that Howard is coming. BUT FOR US THAT WOULD BE SPLEEEEEEEENDID!
Technically I think they could still land Howard. If he wants to play in LA that bad, maybe he comes as a free agent, or a sign and trade might be worked so ORL doesn’t lose him for nothing. Next summer send Okafor + Odom in a trade, amnesty Artest, have CP3 re-sign for less than the max. It could be done. LOL
Not that I really care or probably no one else would to but, does anybody think that the Rockets are getting the Short end of the Deal. I mean they just get Gasol what are they really planning. either way our team will aweeesssooooommmmeee, and we get their draft picks and if they fail to make the Playoffz that would be a lot better for the hornets. I love D. West he earned his stripes in the NBA, it was nice to see him from how he started to where he’s at now, we were a game away from the Western conference finals, and i believe if he was healthy that year, we could’ve capture championship glory… sad indeed

lots of things make me sad.
Watching my kids off to first grade, letting them drive away sans dad and w/new license, not coming home for new years and instead partying with friends…all these things.
But they are all natural progressions.
Same with team chemistry and make up. So on with the new NBA, same as the old NBA but with different players on different benches.
I just want this all over so I know who to root for and who to root against.

I can live with David West leaving. At 31 and coming off a major knee injury, that would have not made much since money wise to me. But Paul leaving will hurt. The guy played hard every night and was a great leader and really embraced the city. I just hope we get some young pieces and picks. I am not thrilled by the garbage that the Rockets will be handing us. Odom is a nice piece even at 31. The 2012 NBA Draft will have some really good players. So long CP3 I enjoyed the 7 years you repped basketball in NOLA.

Umm if this happened I would die. We swapped Odom and Dragic for fricking ANDREW BYNUM? WHAT!? We can potentially flip Bynum for waaaay more than we could have gotten from Odom, or hell, maybe have a piece to build around. This deal is so much infinitely better than the first, I don’t see how anyone could say we didn’t WIN WIN WIN NO MATTER WHAT SNITCHES!

This trade would be amazing for the Hornets, but we need a better starting PG than JJ… That team without one would land us a 7th or 8th seed in playoffs. I’d honestly rather the team get blown up than be stuck in mediocrity. We should resign Landry and then move either him or Scola + JJ for a better PG for me to be really happy.

We will get Dragic, Martin and Scola. We will also get 2 of Patterson/Budinger/Williams/Hill and get a Thabeet rental for a year (not that we want Thabeet, but rockets need to dump him to still try and get nene).
If its Williams and Hill its a pretty bad trade for us. If includes one of Patterson or Budinger it’s not half bad for us. My guess is budinger because we’d be weakest at SF.
So my official guess
LAL: CP3 , O Neill
HOU: Odom and Gasol
NOH: Dragic, Martin, Scola, Budinger, Hill, Thabeet and 2 first round picks.

I wouldn’t mind Budinger, myself. But the reports seem to indicate that the Rockets part of the equation isn’t changing, so that would eliminate Odom to Htn, or anyone else from there to us. I’m really hoping on Bynum and or draft picks, and Okafor going out.
Also, why would we be getting anything for West? He’s a free agent, unless he’s willing to do a sign and trade to help us out. And I hope that O’Neal just goes somewhere else. Its time for us to build our own something new.
As for CP3: Chris, you gave us a lot of good moments, but dude, I’m disappointed in you. You turned out to just be a quieter version of ‘Melo. Why couldn’t you at least have just been honest and said, “I really don’t want to spend my career in NOLA? Its obviously not about the money or the winning, its playing in a major market. Why couldn’t you just have been man enough to say it? I hope you never win a championship, wherever you go.

Bynum would not be in a hornets uni long he’ll be flipped for Brook Lopez down the road since the Nets lost they chances for Dwight Howard

“Marc Stein: Most recent construction of CP3 trade, sources say, does indeed still send Odom to NOH. Hornets want him as much as Martin/Scola even though Hornets know Odom doesn’t want to leave LA. Their preference is keeping him but sense is they’ll trade him on if they have to ”
