A Very Realistic Dwight Howard Trade To Hornets

I know everyone is probably tired of hearing all of these ridiculous Dwight Howard trade proposals (my self included) but I happened to run across one on the Internet that made alot of since. The proposal was….

Hornets get: Dwight Howard

Magic get: Emeka Okafor, David West, Marco Belinelli, and a hornets first round pick

Why the hornets do it: one word….Superman

Why the Magic do it: They fear superman will leave them in free agency and try to trade him. Emeka Okafor isn’t exactly superman but he is still an above average NBA center while David West give them a better starting four and added depth while belinelli gives them three point shooting…..and by the way West and Okafor would still give them one of the best frontcourts in the league.

This Article is about a year old so I know a couple of these players will have new contracts so a couple more pieces might need to be added in order for the salaries to match.

What do you guys think?

  1. I think if orlando decide that are going to lose Howard it wud b a win win situation we are giving up alot but we are getting a massive name in return. Either way Howard will end up with paul or paul will end up with Howard

  2. Exactly Dwight replaces Emeka, Landry steps in for west, and belinelli can easily be replaced…..the only major thing we lost was a backup pf.

    • Not exactly the hornets can go and get a couple Louisiana natives like Glen Davis (PF/C) or/and Thaddeus Young (F) as back-ups. only problem is signing them for the right price!!!

  3. too unrealistic. If Howard is going to be traded, he’s going to be traded for a similar package for what Melo and DWill got. I don’t agree with superstar trading but its reality. And the reality of the matter is that we don’t have enough pieces.

  4. You think this is all the Magic can get for Dwight? An average center, an unsigned injured undesized 31 year old former all-star PF, a maybe 2nd string unsigned SG, and a non-lottery pick draft choice? Wow!

    • that was a trade about a year ago like KJW758 said. I don’t think we can do this now!!! beside D.Howard wouldn’t be happy for long anyway because we still will need a third scorer, two defensive role players, and a overall Six Man anyway. from the looks of it I don’t see hornets spending so much on getting players like that!!!!

      • Trevor ariza? third scorer he looked as if he turned the corner in the playoffs.FREE AGENT SIGNED THIS SUMMER. Jarrett Jack fills in for bellinelli. Or if Partick Ewing Jr. forgets he is a junior.

  5. Emeka is not an average center and I think they should atleast consider it….that magic team would still be considered a contender! A bunch of young players won’t do that. They would def. Be a better playoff team than the nuggets I can guarantee that.

    • There are 30 teams in the NBA. To me average would be 11th-20th best, because those are so closely spaced. So where do you think Okafor is ranked?

  6. I just took a look at all the starting NBA centers and i would rank him the 9th or 10th (maybe even 8th) best starting center in the NBA, which means i would take him over the other 20. Just last season many people thought he could of been an All-Star (including CP3). I’m not the biggest fan of Okafor but he is atleast an above average center. Two seasons ago i probably would’ve called him average.

  7. d.Howard, Bynum, Chandler, Noah, m. Gasol, Perkins, nene, Okafor, j. McGee, d. Jordan, a. Jefferson, and I guess bogut, maybe Even Lopez or Haywood….I would say horford but he’s a pf….there’s only 8 or 9 guys tht I would take over Okafor….how about you?

    • I’d put yours (but probably not Perkins) plus Duncan, A. Jefferson, B. Lopez in front of Okafor. And I think Monroe, Hibbert, Dalembert, and McGee are all dead even with Okafor. Bogut, Bargnani, and Gortat and a little below but only because they play a style of center I value less; others would put them more as even with the group above. Then Jordan and Perkins. After than, I am not sure it matters.
