For a moment, I was tempted to entitle this post “Paul joins LeBron James”. But then, you know, I’d be the same sort of headline-manipulating jerk I complain about all the time. I bet you someone will do it, though.
Anyways, NBC Sports is reporting that Chris Paul has left his longtime agency Octagon, and will be joining LRMR, the agency owned by LeBron James. What does that mean? It means more speculation that Paul will be joining LeBron James wherever he goes in the future. I’ve been highly skeptical of that scenario for a long time, but considering what might happen soon in Miami with Wade, Bosh and LeBron, I don’t know if I can dismiss it out of hand. Strange things are afoot at the Circle K. (first person to identify that reference gets a phone booth of their very own.)
Regardless, getting Paul is a big coup for LRMR, as they’d been after him for years.(I first heard reports about this three seasons ago) Maybe we’ll see press releases soon on behalf of Paul claiming he aspires to become a Global Sidekick next to LeBron’s Global Icon-ness.
