Post-Game Journal Report: Game 17: Hornets @ Kings

The Hornets could not detrone the Kings in Sactown, losing 112-96. Even when it seemed like the Hornets rallied back and got a good run going, the Kings either came back with the three ball or going to the hoop. This is a tough loss against a team without Kevin Martin, the team’s leading scorer who is recovering from wrist surgery, Francisco Garcia, and Spencer Hawes. This was a game that the Hornets should have beat…Hornets fall to 7-10

Game 17: Hornets 96 @ Kings 112

–When it seemed like the Hornets would rally back in the second and third quarter and cut the Kings lead to 5, the Kings shot back with three balls from Nocioni, Casspi, or Udrih and drove to the basket.

–Okafor upped his offense tonight, going 9-10 with 20 points and 9 boards. David West had all-star form tonight with 24 points but only 2 boards.

–Collison had 11 points and 6 dimes…Devin Brown had 10…Posey, subbing for an absent Peja for personal reasons, had 8 points on 3-8 shooting

–Horrible bench play compared to 3 Kings players off the bench with double figures: Thornton had 10 on a horrid 4-15 shooting…just horrible

–Hornets just could not hit the three ball come third and fourth quarters

-Next game is Tuesday @ Lakers on CST…It is still unknown if Peja will be back by then

-Mr. Kennedy
