Post-Game Journal Report: Game 4: Hornets @ Knicks

Now I know everyone is watching the game for the other New Orleans sports team, but in case people forgot, there was a Hornets game tonight…well, it was best to forget we had a game tonight. I tried finding a stream on the Internet on some TV viewing sites but I only caught the first quarter before the streams kept going offline so I listened to the second half on the radio. I knew it was going to be a high-scoring game with Knicks Coach D’Antoni’s run-and-gun offense but it did not help out the Hornets tonight.

Game 4: Hornets 111 @ Knicks 117

–The Hornets fought back in the third quarter, outscoring the Knicks 29 – 19 but could not score down the stretch.

–Our big three came up big but no help from Peterson (again) and Wright (who only had 2 points). Paul had 32 points (12-18 shooting including 4-5 from downtown), 5 boards, and 13 dimes. Emeka rebounded for a sub-par shooting night with 24 points and 10 boards. Mr. West had 21 points.

–Our bench needs help…bad. Other that Peja’s 11 points, there was no production from the bench. Just the same, old Bobby Brown chucking shots…and missing (2-7 shooting). Still no playing time for Collison and Thornton.

–The Knicks have weapons…Hughes with 20 points, Duhon with 18 points and 9 assists, David Lee had 28 points and 8 rebounds. Plus, when you add in Danilo Gallinari, who only had 9 points but had 30 on Saturday, and Nate Robinson, when healthy, the Knicks could make noise this year…or choke like every year. But we’ll have to see because it’s only the second week of the NBA season.

–Hornets need to come out strong on Wednesday against a deep Dallas Mavericks. Game @ 8:30PM on ESPN.
