My League Pass almost always shows the broadcast for the team opposite the Hornets, so I’m going to make note of some of my favorite bits from the announcers here. (Note: All my journals will be late as I’m almost always watching the game the following morning. I perform live comedy most nights in Austin, Tx – if you’re in the area, let me know)

Cleveland announcers weren’t too bad, just generally pretty boring. They got really worked up over Melvin Ely’s hair and made some really dull jokes that cracked each other up about the 70’s. They laughed even harder when they were describing the Big Z Fatheads that would be given out as part of some season ticket promotion. They both looked pretty ridiculous with Big Z Fatheads on their ties.

The most non-laughing emotion we got from them was when David West didn’t get T’d up after Lebron James had. They described how Lebron had done so much less, which is to be expected, but these guys were big time crybabying.

These guys are barely better than Golden State’s and that’s only because they called the Chris Paul/David West connection a “Creole Stockton/Malone”, which, yeah, while it’s a pretty pathetic attempt to fuse New Orleans culture with the Hornets, it’s the first time I’ve ever heard an opposing team make note of the similarities.
