Morris Peterson is a Hornet

Hell yeah, Morris Peterson agreed to sign with the Hornets today, which rocks my world just a little bit. More details here and here. Apparently dude is on vacation and he'll sign a deal worth $23 million over 4 years when he gets back. Kudos to Jeff Bower and his magic head shine for tempting Peterson away from the Utah Jazz and bringing him to New Orleans.

Mo-Pete, as the cool kids call him, has been known to look like this…

Damn, I almost went to Utah!

This signing proves once and for all that I am an idiot, because there was me telling you two weeks ago that the Hornets wouldn't be making a splash in free agency. Those of you who come here just to look at the pictures might be the smart ones.

Moving on, let's consider the Hornets starting five next season, ignoring the inevitable injuries of course…

Chris Paul
Morris Peterson
Peja Stojakovic
David West
Tyson Chandler

Oh man, that lineup makes me want to hug strangers. Throw Hilton Armstrong, Julian Wright, Rasual Butler, Bobby Jackson and Cedric Simmons into the mix, and we could be on to something here.

So does this mean we've seen the last of Devin Brown and Jannero Pargo? I don't know. Honestly, I'm not quite sure how much more the Hornets plan to spend or what the cap situation is. One day I'll get a secretary to figure all that stuff out for me. Between tasks, she'll be real hot and feed me cheesecake.
