Peja Stojakovic is made of eggshells

Just caught wind of this story over on ESPN. In a nutshell: Peja Stojakovic suffered a setback in practice this afternoon and will need to chill for a few days, pop some pills, and get re-evaluated early next week. You know, early next week when the Hornets are even further out of the Playoff race.

They're already all over this over this at the HR boards (they have eyes everywhere!!). I agree 100% that the Hornets shouldn't try rush the guy back and risk him hurting the thing even more, but I can't help but be pissed off at the news. Not pissed off at Peja particularly — dude can't help it if he has the durability of a paper condom — but just pissed off at this whole mess of a season in general.

I think if we had all sat down last October and came up with a worst case scenario for the Hornets in 2006-07, not even the most pessimistic among us could have forseen all the shit this team has had to deal with. I'm expecting a plague of locusts any day now.

But fuck it. Let's not get too depressed reflecting on a season of unfulfilled promise. Admittedly, there have been some bright spots along the way. Prime example: all that work Desmond Mason put into his jumper last summer paid dividends.
