In the NO Ep. 277: Euphoria Letdown

Well, that high didn’t last for long, did it? Michael and I talk about the Rockets game. A bunch. Then we talk about Jrue needing to be aggressive, the team fitting together, and more importantly, fitting with Alvin Gentry. We also get sidetracked into what flexibility the team has over the summer to clear cap space – or not.

And sheesh. That game. Ugh.

Agree on the Rockets…I was hoping we could somehow get Lou Williams to prop up our second team scoring, but I guess more future picks were not going to happen…with that many shooters, it has to be highly doubtful that all or most have a bad night…that means someone will always be hitting 3’s…I did see their shot chart immediately after the game and was amazed…I recall a fantastic game earlier this year where I think they beat the Warriors in overtime?  That was an offensive slugfest…I would look forward to watching that…second of course to our Pels.

I still cant believe Dell gave Solomon Hill 4/48 + 3.9 in incentives. What in Solomon Hill’s career prior to signing him would warrant a GM giving him that contract and a starting role? Would this guy be getting consistent minutes on another team? Too me he is a 10-12th guy on a roster / d-league player.  Could’ve given James Ennis 6 million to hold down the SF spot for 1 or 2 seasons and gotten slightly better offensive production. Solomon Hill at the moment is pretty much hitting his career average across the board, he is a dead weight at 12 million a season.
