Alexis Ajinca has found his way into the starting lineup after the bold media day claim that he will be the Pelicans’s starting center. On an offensively deficient team that struggles to create space for Anthony Davis, it makes sense to start the 7’2″ Frenchman with a smooth jump shot. Or does it?

From @johnschuhmann the Pelicans are posting a ghastly 118.3 DRtg with Davis and Ajinca on the court since Ajinca began starting.

Yikes.

Ajinca is also a bottom 7 player in defensive rating for players who have played at least 17 games and average at least 15 minute per game. Defensive rating is a measure of how many points the opponents score per 100 possessions while that player is on the court.

Double yikes.
