Pelicans to pick 6th in NBA draft

Well, the most likely outcome happened in the Lottery – and the Pelicans will select 6th overall in the 2016 draft.  Not sexy.  In a supposedly 2-star draft(I see 3), hard to get excited either.  Unless you find Buddy, Bender or Random Tall Stiff Who Didn’t Exactly Dominate in College exciting.

Dell will now have to decide if he’s going to hold onto a pick and probably get a guy who can’t make an impact in the near term – or see if he can move it for any veteran help.  I suspect the most likely target would be a team like the Nets who have to be looking for any young talent they can muster at this point.

We’ll be doing a podcast tomorrow night to talk about options and what we would do.  If you have any questions you would like answered – pop em in the comments down below, or hit me up on twitter @SchwanBSS.

Hey Buddy, why so down about Buddy?

Who do you consider to be the third star in this draft assuming Ingram and Simmons are the first two? Murray or Dunn?

Wanted to ask this before the lottery, but…prior to the drawing, would you rather have had a slightly better shot at the 1-2 pick in exchange for a guaranteed drop to 8? Personally, I think 6 is a commodity. I like Buddy, and would be happy to have him here, but even if you guys don’t, there will be 8-10 GM’s salivating at the chance to trade up for him for a higher than market bounty for a typical 6th pick. This is a win-win scenario.
