The New Orleans Pelicans are on the road tonight to face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Tulsa at 7. The game is not being televised in New Orleans but the game will be on FS Oklahoma and appears to be on League Pass tonight according to the Cox guide here in New Orleans. Also, the game will be broadcast on WWL radio 105.3 FM in New Orleans and the rest of the radio network.

Expect the Pelicans to continue playing their usual starters in Holiday, Aminu, Davis and Stiemsma with the one difference being the returning Eric Gordon instead of Morrow and Rivers who started in the 4 prior games. Tyreke Evans is still listed as day-to-day, which to the Pelicans fans most like means he’s out for tonight. Jason Smith, who suffered a hip injury prior to Sunday’s game against the Hawks appears to be out tonight.

The main story of the night will be Aminu defending Kevin Durant. This is a make or break season for Aminu in his fourth year. If the Pelicans want to push for a playoff spot they will need him to, at the very least, become a strong defender. He has worked with the Pelicans’ coaches all summer to improve on that side of the ball, and Durant, who is averaging 27 points per game in the preseason, is going to be a good measuring stick of his progress. No one is expecting him to mark Durant out of the game tonight, but he at least needs to fight hard and try to slow down the league’s second best player.

But overall, tonight, expect more of the same. Monty has said he wants to keep trying to build synergy between players so expect to see a lot of the Holiday/Davis combination with Anderson and now Gordon spotting up for kickouts. Let us know your prediction for tonight’s game in the comments!
