New Orleans Pelicans Press Release:

The New Orleans Pelicans will debut the first ever rebranded New Orleans Arena court design for the upcoming 2013-14 season tomorrow, July 1 at Pelicans.com. Fans can visit the team’s website starting at 6:00 a.m. to get a sneak peak at the new look.

In addition to viewing the new court design, fans will also have the opportunity to take a virtual 360° tour of the new inner bowl of the New Orleans Arena. The IOMedia technology utilized to develop the 3-D interactive map will offer the fans the ability to see the view from any seat location at every angle.

By participating in the virtual tour, fans will also have the opportunity to register to win a pair of floor seats to a 2013-14 Pelicans home game. As plans for additional renovations are finalized, the virtual site will be updated to include images and details about the new premium seating locations and entertainment areas. An addition to the lower bowl, which can be seen in the 360° tour, is the new Loge Box seating that combines the suite experience with the excitement of stadium seating. Benefits to this space include comfortable seating, premium all-inclusive catered dining and LED monitors so fans never miss a minute of action.

Also soon to be highlighted will be the all new Party Perch located in the Balcony which will boast a new bandstand that will feature live music at home games giving Pelicans fans an atmosphere and view of the game unlike any other in the NBA.

Over 80% of seats in the Arena have had their prices reduced. For more information on season ticket packages, fans can visit Pelicans.com or call 504.525.HOOP

The rest of the rebrand will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

  • The jerseys will not be available for a few weeks, likely
  • Mascot is in the works, and early reports was that it would be most streamlined and lacking a shell like Hugo’s Bee body. It’d be more of just a guy in a fitting suit, maybe textured or `feathered’, maybe with a big costume head an mildly articulating wings, unlike Hugo’s.
  • Things like the dance team name are supposed to be addressed with fan input at some point in the process
