After taking a week off for Easter, Michael and I have the bizarre experience of reviewing a record of 5-2 for the team? Freakish – and alarming! We also talk Aminu’s improvement, Ayon’s regression, Gordon’s contract, Ariza’s benching, and Monty Williams calling Marco a Beast and “Everything he wants this team to be.” Wow.
Yes, that’s the A-Team below. I should say something like “And like the A-Team and Hannibal, Dell Demps’ plan is coming together” but I won’t. I put that picture there because the A-Team is cool.

Ouzo Chutney. He’d clearly be a forward in the Big Baby mold.
Let’s get this right… Tom Benson has been one of the most successful owners in the NFL. The Saints were the Aints before he became owner in 1985. In 2 seasons following the purchase of the franchise, the Saints were in the playoffs under coach Jim Mora. Witht the exception of the Mike Ditka era and 2005, the New Orleans Saints have been a steady franchise.
Being a New Orleans native and a professional team owner that has been successful, he knows what the Hornets need. The Hornets are going to get a facelift and transform this team into a contender. First, the name needs to be changed. I personally feel Benson need to adopt the name New Orleans Brass. It represent the rich musical presence in the city. Also, it pays homage to the hockey team that opened the New Orleans Arena to the public.
Things are going to get real interesting in New Orleans. Watchout NBA, the sting is gone, but the Brass Band is here to stay and make NOISE. They will be High-Stepping on the hearts of other NBA teams in 2012-2013.
Since Benson owns the Saints,Hornets and 33% of downtown lets call that section of NOLA Bensonhurst lol.
I like the Arena changed to The Fiat Garden.
I have some numbers to chew on about Ariza, our “defensive stopper.”
Against the best 3 guys he’d have to defend all season, here’s how the numbers stack up:
Lebron- 1/30/12 Ariza played 30 minutes, LBJ finished with 22 points on 8-12 shooting.
Kobe- 3/14/12 Ariza played 44 minutes, Kobe finished with 33 points on 10-23 shooting.
Durant- 1/25/12 Ariza played 29 minutes, Durant finished with 25 points on 9-13 shooting.
– 2/20/12 Ariza played 29 minutes, Durant finished with 31 points on 10-19 shooting.
What are yall thoughts on Ariza based on the above facts?
Also, the recent game when Kobe went 0-15 before hitting a shot, Ariza did not play that game.
Bourbon Dijon( pronounced Bore Bone) 6’11” 192 from France. And I agree about watching the Kings. I saw a little of their game the other night against the Rockets. UNWATCHABLE! BTW, I always look forward to your podcasts. More good, and entertaining, information than a week of sports talk on the radio. Gives me a chance to turn off the nattering nabobs of negativism and listen to your glorious truths.
OK there was just a hint of sarcasm in that last line.
If we don’t match Gordon’s max contact offer ( I agree we don’t ), and Ariza is gone, and Kaman & Landry, plus amnesty Okafor, we’ll have about a bazillion dollars cap space. Easily enough for 2 max contract guys, & with the new cba we can probably find a couple to the FO’s liking.
Add 2 top 10 picks & 2 veteran stars to the mix with Smith, Jack, Ayon, Vasquez, Aminu, Belli & Henry, plus what Dell can do with the MLE’s. Now that’s blowing it up! I think we can have a helluva lineup this way w/o waiting years.
