Chris Paul Trade re-submitted, West on the move?
According to ESPN.com, the Paul to the Lakers trade has been re-submitted to the front office. No details yet on the changes in the trade. Wonder what will happen this time . . .
Oh – and West to the Celtics? Not sure how that works, but wow.
. . . both of these things make me a bit sad. You?

We can't sign Aaron Brooks til march thats when his contract in china will expire as so for JR Smith and Wilson Chandler
We can brooks in march because his contract in china will expire as so as JR Smith and Wilson Chandler
After ditching paul, we should focus on getting a replacing PG, and three come to mind: Jrue Holiday, George Hill, and Rajon Rando. which would Perfect and How do we acquire them!! I like Jarrett Jack, but him as a starter. i think we need some insurance in trading for one of those three players to make sure our line-Up is Secured!!!
Personally, I don't mind riding out season with Jack and looking to draft our pick up FA next offseason.
Aim lower. Philly isn't giving up on Jrue. Pacers just traded lotto pick for Hill. And Boston isn't likely to give away Rondo without PG insurance of their own. Think Darren Collison. Johnny Flynn. Aaron Brooks. DJ Augustin. Eric Maynor. Ramon Sessions. That's if they want young w/some upside. Could also go after amnestied players like Billups or soon to be Baron Davis (barf!)
I set it up so outbound links open in a new tab, then window if that's not enabled, etc., and inbound links open in your current browser. Now you can click all around the site without 1,000 windows opening, but clicking on trades and articles etc. doesn't mean you have to back up to get to where you left off . . . it stays put. I think that fits your needs, yeah? Good idea.
Ok, first I would like to say: before anyone on here suggests a trade on ESPNs Trade Machine, I would like you to look at your proposed as a person with basketball and business knowledge... Not just as a fan of the Hornets. Please! Secondly, I've gathered that we are still getting Hou players minus Dragic and probably adding a youngster most likely Hill. Odom and Bynum prob coming to NO with Mek taking a flight with his pal CP3. Also heard Ariza could be subbed for Mek but I doubt it... Also don't be surprised if Brandon Bass gets flipped as part of David West trade. Just a guess.
If the Hornets get Bynum and Odom they'll going to the Nets for Brook Lopez and Jordan Farmar
I'm COOL with getting Lopez but....We need to snatch somebody else from Nets instead of Famar
it would be cool but it wouldn't make sense if their after nene and D.howard. the only reason why i want to trade is because b.lopez is cheaper of keeper, with high potential scoring.
Here's what I gathered from the internet. "Yahoo! Sports: Paul goes the Lakers, Pau Gasol to the Rockets, and Houston still sends Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and a 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets "Steve Kyler: Expect Lakers Devin Ebank and Derrick Caracter to be packed into Paul deal with Emeka Okafor heading to the Lakers." "Marc Stein: Most recent construction of CP3 trade, sources say, does indeed still send Odom to NOH. Hornets want him as much as Martin/Scola even though Hornets know Odom doesn't want to leave LA. Their preference is keeping him but sense is they'll trade him on if they have to " "Sam Amico: NBA GM tells me he's heard any deal that delivers Chris Paul to LA must also send Andrew Bynum to NO. "But I'm on outside looking in."
Also, "Sean Deveney: Doesn't look like Jordan Hill will be in the Hornets trade, which makes me think Patrick Patterson will be."
So if all these reports are correct we are getting Martin, Scola, Dragic, Patterson, Bynum, Odom, Caracter, Ebank and Draft picks for one guy. Sounds like quite the haul.
Bynum would not be in a hornets uni long he'll be flipped for Brook Lopez down the road since the Nets lost they chances for Dwight Howard
I wouldn't mind Budinger, myself. But the reports seem to indicate that the Rockets part of the equation isn't changing, so that would eliminate Odom to Htn, or anyone else from there to us. I'm really hoping on Bynum and or draft picks, and Okafor going out. Also, why would we be getting anything for West? He's a free agent, unless he's willing to do a sign and trade to help us out. And I hope that O'Neal just goes somewhere else. Its time for us to build our own something new. As for CP3: Chris, you gave us a lot of good moments, but dude, I'm disappointed in you. You turned out to just be a quieter version of 'Melo. Why couldn't you at least have just been honest and said, "I really don't want to spend my career in NOLA? Its obviously not about the money or the winning, its playing in a major market. Why couldn't you just have been man enough to say it? I hope you never win a championship, wherever you go.
man that's cruel. but I disagree w/ u on that one. i wish him the best wishes and i know he will have a better career somewhere else!!!!
My guess is if its still with Hou Rockets will get Odom and Gasol. We will get Dragic, Martin and Scola. We will also get 2 of Patterson/Budinger/Williams/Hill and get a Thabeet rental for a year (not that we want Thabeet, but rockets need to dump him to still try and get nene). If its Williams and Hill its a pretty bad trade for us. If includes one of Patterson or Budinger it's not half bad for us. My guess is budinger because we'd be weakest at SF.
So my official guess LAL: CP3 , O Neill HOU: Odom and Gasol NOH: Dragic, Martin, Scola, Budinger, Hill, Thabeet and 2 first round picks.
The rumor is the Hornets are getting Kevin Martin,Scola,Andrew Bynum and Montiejunas & Draft picks The Rockets gettng Paul Gasol The Lakers getting Paul and Okafor
The most likely trade for Hornets minus Q-Pon http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cj7jvvp
This trade would be amazing for the Hornets, but we need a better starting PG than JJ... That team without one would land us a 7th or 8th seed in playoffs. I'd honestly rather the team get blown up than be stuck in mediocrity. We should resign Landry and then move either him or Scola + JJ for a better PG for me to be really happy.
Umm if this happened I would die. We swapped Odom and Dragic for fricking ANDREW BYNUM? WHAT!? We can potentially flip Bynum for waaaay more than we could have gotten from Odom, or hell, maybe have a piece to build around. This deal is so much infinitely better than the first, I don't see how anyone could say we didn't WIN WIN WIN NO MATTER WHAT SNITCHES!
What did I say about the first trade being garbage? You knew we could do better.. this would be a fairly good trade in my eyes.
I can live with David West leaving. At 31 and coming off a major knee injury, that would have not made much since money wise to me. But Paul leaving will hurt. The guy played hard every night and was a great leader and really embraced the city. I just hope we get some young pieces and picks. I am not thrilled by the garbage that the Rockets will be handing us. Odom is a nice piece even at 31. The 2012 NBA Draft will have some really good players. So long CP3 I enjoyed the 7 years you repped basketball in NOLA.
Okay Guys I said this TWO YEARS AGO ON THIS SITE. I said Trade Chris Paul NOT Darren Collison because he's hurt and will probably still leave us anyway.....You know the end result. So Here's the trade that SHOULD happen. FORGET Houston http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7gggheq
I like this trade this, but trade would be better if we get Roy Hibbert as well!!! Do you agree!!
I don't mind if the team sucks this season, so long as there are pieces to build on. The draft is so deep, if we land a top 5 pick, we'll be back in business.
lots of things make me sad. Watching my kids off to first grade, letting them drive away sans dad and w/new license, not coming home for new years and instead partying with friends...all these things. But they are all natural progressions. Same with team chemistry and make up. So on with the new NBA, same as the old NBA but with different players on different benches. I just want this all over so I know who to root for and who to root against. So far, along with the usual Celtics, Miami and Miami...I ave added the Knicks with the now extremely over paid Chandler to my hate list. I simply cannot understand why this guy got the money he just reportedly did. Oh, come on...don't even try to explain it. IMO...it is just plain ol' stupid.
that was supposed to be Celtics, Lakers and Miami...even though I do double hate on Miami after last year.
