My Rant Against NBA League Pass

I dont’ about you guys, but I have been having techinal issues with NBA League Pass.  I sent them this rant.  If you have had the same issues please fill out their survey at the end of the year letting them how you want it fixed as a paying cosumer.  Here’s to actually being able to watch the Hornets games : )

Dear NBA League Pass,

So far this season I had to put up with commercial pauses on replays where when they could be taken out just like at NFL.com, forced to watch a Japanese commercial over and over again for NBA League Pass Mobile iPhone app, cannot access the games from the mobile app even though I purchased the premium package, had games where entire sections where skipped,  had games where the wrong teams where playing, had constant skipping and lag problems even though I live in Japan and have just about the FASTEST internet in the world and NOW on top of that I get this error when I am trying to watch the Hornets in the middle of their playoff push:

This page is unavailable in your area. Please visit http://www.nba.com/leaguepass to subscribe to NBA League Pass.*

*BTW this has happened two years in a row right in the middle of the season.

If the NFL can get it right using the same back-end service as the NBA, what is wrong with the NBA?  Fix this ASAP.  You guys should offer a partial refund for this season or a DEEP discount that can be applied next season.

My account is ********.

Respectfully,
Jeff Knight

P.S – Take the commercials out of the replays.  SKIP from the end of the last play before commercial to the beginning of the next play.  The NFL can do it.  Can you guys figure it out?  If you can’t I will be glad to accept a position as the NBA.com CTO for $250,000 + benefits per year to help you figure out your technical issues.  My resume is available on request.

One of the best letters I have read since good old Ignatious in the greatest book of all time- A Confederacy of Dunces. You may be the new heir to his throne. Brilliant!

Bought the book on Kindle for $7. I trust that it is worth it.

Good idea to bring up the NFL, after all, the NBA like copying them, right down to the owners being incompetent and having a lockout…

I haven’t personally had any problems with League Pass, but then I watch games Live and haven’t tried using mobile. Sorry for your problem, but I think they might refund your money. If they don’t, keep the door bolted to make sure Stern doesn’t stick a shiv in your neck while you sleep

League Pass is weird. I have had League Pass for several years so I could watch the Hornets in OKC. Not this year. I complained about this earlier in the year – now everybody is blocking The Hornets games in OKC (unless its changed over the year). Except ESPN, but how many times have The Hornets been on ESPN? It doesn’t make sense, whats the purpose of having League Pass if you can’t watch the game you want? Cripe your paying enough money for it.

Best part about League Pass: Blacked out games on NBATV because it’s a “nationally” televised game. What a crock, nobody even gets NBATV.

I was just about to come and post this very thing here when I noticed the Suns game was on NBATV tonight which means I’m blacked out. It really makes no sense to me that the NBA would create a divide in their programming, blacking out games on ESPN or TNT I can understand since a vast majority of people have as part of a general cable package.

NBATV, like league pass, I see as supplemental channels so it’s frustrating that the I pay the NBA for league pass only to be blacked out because I don’t feel like paying the NBA twice.

As a result I’m off to the back alleys of the internet to find a stream…
