Post-Game Journal Report: Game 30: Heat @ Hornets

Hoping the second meeting between the Hornets and Heat didn’t end up like the first one, the Hornets let a fourth quarter lead slip but still take the W at the Hive with a double-double from Emeka and another strong performance from David West, who is also in trade rumors.

Game 30: Heat 91 @ Hornets 95

–Chris Paul had 18 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds. Being there live, the arena erupted when CP made the three point heave as the shot clock was expiring. It was amazing and just one of those WOW moments.

–A report in ESPN surfaced yesterday on how the Hornets may be forced to trade David West by the trade deadline…but Mr. West did not let that affect him tonight as he finished with 21 points and 10 boards.

–Devin Brown got to a quick start in the first quarter scoring 8 points in the first and finished with 16. Maybe it might be a mistake to trade away our starting SG if he keeps putting up these numbers…

–Emeka had a nice game tonight with 15 points and 14 boards. Darius Songalia had 11 points in 14 minutes and impressed me tonight with hitting long jumpers and scoring when needed.

–Hornets still need to work on closing out games because they had a 16 point lead in the fourth but let the Heat crawl back (outscoring NO 32 – 22) and take a late 1 point lead but Paul and West’s free throws saved us from another loss. But overall I am satisfied with the W… Paul and West got help from Emeka, Devin, and even Songalia off the bench (he can shoot)… Rockets @ Hornets on Saturday…
