Post-Game Journal Report: Game 15: Hornets @ Heat

In a game for the Hornets to extend their winning streak, some, what I like to call, inexperienced play calling stopped the Hornets from doing that. After the game, my thought was “that’s the best play you could draw up???” The inbound to West, who holds the ball for what seems like an eternity (15.4 seconds), and tries a leaner jump shot to draw the foul instead of giving it to the hot hands of Thornton or Peja… Well, the team will learn, and more importantly, Bower will learn from this loss. Hornets go to 6-9.

Game 15: Hornets 101 @ Heat 102

–Collison had 11…Peja was the Peja of old, 14 points on 5-12 shooting (3-8 3PT)…West had 13 points and 9 boards

–Emeka got into early foul trouble and his stats suffered, 5 points and 6 boards

–Thornton was incredible tonight…career high 24 points (9-19 FG), including a buzzer-beater 3 at the end of the first qtr and scoring 10 in a row in the second qtr. This kid continues to impress game after game…

–Pose Knows: Posey had 14 points and 6 boards

–Flash was flash…Wade had 31 points on 12-21 FG and Haslem had 14 points and 7 boards…Beasley had 17 points and 9 rebounds.

–The team is improving really well since the loss of Scott and the rookies are maturing very quickly. The team looks like playing with NO Paul is NO problem at the moment, except for the last play of the Heat game because we all know Paul would have been option 1 on that last play…but it’s an 82 game season and you cannot win them all.
