Hornets lose in overtime at Detroit as the Hornets backcourt was outscored greatly. Hornets fought back in the second half and the score was tied at 96 at the end of four quarters but the Hornets were outscored 14 – 8 in OT. Hornets now 20 – 18.

Game 38: Hornets 104 @ Pistons 110

–Chris Paul had 24 points (7-14 FG) and 14 assists. David West had 25 points and 9 boards. Peja had 13.

–Devin and Emeka were nonfactors…Emeka had 7 points and 6 boards and Devin was scoreless. That’s the bad part about streaky shooters…they can be score 30+ one night and the next night not score any.

–Bench: Thornton had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Posey had 6 and Songalia had 8.

–Pistons backcourt outscored the Hornets backcourt 45 – 24 and CP had the 24…pretty embarrassing, isn’t it. Hard to believe this game went into OT!

–Rip exploded for 32 points and 10 assists. Rodney Stuckey had 13. Ben Wallace dominated with 13 points and 21 boards…yeah 21 boards.

–Bench was a factor for the Pistons: Charlie V had 13 points and 7 rebounds. Austin Daye had 12. Ben Gordon did not play. If he did, this game would’ve been over probably early fourth.

–Tough, tough loss. Hornets can bounce back against N.O. native/Grace King product Danny Granger and the Pacers @ Indiana tomorrow.
