Post-Game Journal Report: Game 29: Hornets @ Rockets

Another tough loss to swallow, especially because of David West’s career night and Chris Paul’s quiet triple-double. Hornets fall to the Rockets in Houston to fall to 13-16.

Game 29: Hornets 100 @ Rockets 108

–It was a career night for Mr. West with a new career-high 44 points (18-30 FG, 2-4 from 3PT) and 12 boards. We’ve been waiting for West to explode and tonight is the night but we all know West would prefer the win. We’ve seen West underperforming all season; well below his averages since last year and hopefully this was the spark for West to get back to his 20-10 form.

–Our other Hornets all-star, Chris Paul, had a quiet triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

–Amid trade rumors, Devin had 8 points…Emeka had 9 points, 6 boards, and 5 blocked shots before fouling out…Peja was 0-4 and held scoreless…disgusting!

–Bench help? Posey had 5 points…Collison and Songalia had 8 points a piece…Juju had 2 and Thornton was scoreless

–When our two all-stars perform like this and still lose the game, it is evidently clear the team needs to surround those guys with more help. It’s time to get rid of Hilton, MoPete, and Bobby Brown…these guys are just riding the pine and are not contributing anything. Try to trade them off for cap relief to get under the cap.

–Trevor Ariza had 13 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists…Aaron Brooks had 27 points…Shane Battier had 20 and Luis Scola had 13 points and 12 boards…Carl Landry had 18 points and 6 boards off the bench…

–Hornets vs Heat tomorrow at the Hive…I’ll be at the game so I’ll be sure to give my live report from the N.O. Arena
