Chris Paul gave out assists in the first half and gave out points in the second half…now I know that doesn’t really sound correct, but CP gave an all-star MVP performance tonight against a top team in the West as the Hornets defeated the Nuggets. CP said this was another W on their record but they wanted this win after the way the Hornets were embarrassed in game 4 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals back in April.

–Chris Paul did everything tonight…almost having a triple-double with 30 points (13-20 FG), 19 assists, and 9 rebounds. CP had 13 assists by halftime but only 4 points…once the third quarter started, CP went 7-7 FG in the third for 18 points.

–Peja was the Peja of old tonight…24 points on 9-14 FG and 4-8 from three…Devin had 10 points…West had 12 points and 8 boards…Emeka had 9 points and 12 boards

–Off the bench, Posey had 7 points and 7 boards and Songalia had 6 points

–With Billups out with a groin injury, Carmelo had to carry more than usual tonight and the Hornets shut him down…17 points on 5-16 FG and 7 boards

–JR Smith had 25 off the bench…oh man, if the Hornets could have him back…
