The New Orleans Pelicans just can’t catch a break. Or maybe all that occurs are breaks. Or more injuries. How many times has this been said this season? And it hasn’t even really started yet.

Today the Pelicans announced that Tyreke Evans underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. A timetable for his return is currently unavailable. He adds to the already long list of injured Pelicans which includes: Omer Asik, Quincy Pondexter, Alexis Ajinca, Norris Cole, Luke Babbitt…can I just stop now? Oh, and Jrue Holiday is on a minutes restriction. But good news! It was raised from 10 to 15 per game!

This type of surgery usually requires a period of 4 to 6 weeks of recovery. And the silver lining is that it’s not season ending so you’ll most certainly see him on the court for the Pelicans this season. What’s slightly worrisome is this is the third such procedure since 2014. The Pelicans also signed guards Bo McCalebb and Nate Robinson this week to add depth in the backcourt.

The Pelicans official press release is below. And for now let’s wish him the best. The Pelicans will certainly need him back sooner rather than later.
