The New Orleans Pelicans host the Sacramento Kings in Rupp Arena tonight (10/17) at 7 ET in a preseason match up of former Wildcat big men. Demarcus Cousins (drafted 2010) and Anthony Davis (drafted 2012) are two statistically dominant big men who always make a good show.

The Pelicans have been plagued by injuries again so far this year, as Tyreke Evans joins a list of Quincy Pondexter, Omer Asik, Alexis Ajinca, Norris Cole, Luke Babbitt, who are all out injured. Jrue Holiday remains on a minute restriction; and Eric Gordon is day-to-day with shoulder and back issues and is out tonight for the game. However, the team has been busy the past week adding camp bodies to the roster, signing Mirza Begic, waiving Corey Webster, signing Bo McCaledd, waiving Mirza Begic, signing Nate Robinson, and then waiving Jerome Jordan whom they signed last week.

Regardless of all that, Brow V Boogie Cousins will be a fun match up. Some things to watch:

  • Holiday is on a minute restriction but I’ll watching what he does with those minutes as continues to work his way back in from injury.
  • Ryan Anderson hasn’t shot the ball particularly well this preseason, going 0-11 from the field his first two games, but he broke out a little this past Monday in Chicago, recording 18 pts on 18 shots, 4-6 from deep, to go along with 10 rebounds. It is vital to this team that Anderson get his feet under him this season, he makes this offense elite. Look to see how he progresses.
  • The Battle of the Bench. Who earns what spot? Who fits and who sits? Who gets waived and who becomes a fan fav? Who gets to sign and who loses a spot on the pine? The Pels will have to trim their roster before the season’s start.

Come back after the game to read a break down of the action from Rupp Arena. Flock Up!
