1) My prediction for tonight is 95-87 Pelicans Win
2) I think key matchup for tonight is who ever tayshuan prince is covering. If he is covering Eric Gordon I expect him to have a good game. If he is guarding Tyreke then I expect a big game from him.
3) Zach Randolph scares me the most for the grizzlies. His bruising post game could lead to some fouls for Anthony Davis if he doesn’t play smart ( not biting on pumpfakes, etc.)
My prediction is a win for the Pels. No clue at a score 93-90 maybe?
Key matchup tonight is Asik vs. Gasol. If they can cancel each other out offense and defensively then I’ll be happy.
Z-Bo def scares me the most. Big physical guy that might still be able to outmuscle AD. But I think AD will continue his MVP type stats this game. His ability to get foul calls seem to be getting better and better.
Bonus I think Eric Gordon still get the starting spot. But he won’t get as much minutes this game. Let’s go with our big man lineup Asik-Daivs-Ryno-Tyreke-Jrue and let Gordon make his presence with the bench guys. And if Rivers ever takes a few shots, I think he’ll be ok. I see some small positives in the little bit I’ve seen from him
87-81 Pelicans’ win.
Key matchup is Z-Bo vs. Davis, winner of that matchup probably wins the game, and both guys can draw fouls on the other.
Z-Bo scares me the most, since he is one of the 15 guys in the league who can blow up and take over a game on offense, and also draw fouls on Davis.
To go with the bonus, there is no way that Eric Gordon doesn’t start. He gets a month or so before we start tinkering with the lineups, I assume.
What is your prediction for tonight’s game? Pels win 100-90What do you think is the key matchup tonight? Brow/RandolphWhich Grizzly player scares you most? Why does this player scare you? Gasol/Randolph. Pick either. The main thing is who out of Brow/Asik guards which of them, and how do both match up. Do we go big frontcourt for more minutes tonight?
i have no idea who is going to win,let alone the score
the key will be the refs. foul tuoble could be a problem. if thats the case, i favor the home team. i think our bigs match their bigs, its just a matter of who gets into foul trouble first.
another key is the wings (since the PGs cancel out each other), It will be allen, carter, pondexter vs gordon evans and salmons?
i tend to be objective yet i hope im wrong…but i have a bad feeling about this game to be honest
I am adding my own two questions:
1. Is this the game we see Ajinca get real minutes because their bigs are slow and we have three games this week including a back to back starting today?
2. Is this the game we see Babbitt get real minutes because Salmons is out and we have three games this week including a back to back starting today?
I have no complaints about the rotation or anything yet. Just thought that Ajinca was prepared to have a pretty good year as a backup C. Haven’t seen him yet, wonder when I’ll get to see him in action. Seems like AD has been logging a lot of mins at PF then some at C, but I guess he’s young, probably no need to worry about it.
And if AD has a game tonight like he’s had the first 2 games. I’m starting my MVP campaign tonight!
Gordon plays no defense. Nice oh lay defense to let allen dunk baseline
2 fouls on unibrow…told ya that would be a factor. That changes everything
Question #2 answered affirmatively with 4 minutes left in 1st Quarter!
Question #1 answered affirmatively with 1.30 minutes left in 1st Quarter!
Seeing some nice plays from the Pels. Not executing though. But I the plays going to Gordon are starting to get a little frustrating. He isn’t making plays that anyone else on the team couldn’t make. But AD, Tyreke, and Jrue. Wow they are playing great. Especially Tyreke. If he can knock down 3s like he’s been doing he’ll be unstoppable.
zone defense by the pels!
Anyone else getting worried about the outcome of this game?
With the game nearly over, I am 3-3 in this thread. Let try for 4-4! By the end of the week, Monty will have given up on the Eric Gordon starting experiment. Monty fed Eric the ball early, to try to get Eric going. Eric responded by going 4-14 and 0- from 3 pointland.
Some really good comments today. A few things:
1. A lot of you said ZBo would be a problem, and he undoubtedly was. Was throwing around our bigs like rag dolls tonight. Had 15 points on some inefficient shooting, but felt like he scored 30.
2. A ton of missed jumpers tonight. We need Ryno to get back into form in a bad way.
3. Tyreke was great tonight. Memphis doesn’t give you a whole lot of space and he still managed to do his thing. So that was good.
Asik missed a ton of shots under the goal…looked really sloppy offensively…not encouraging, but other missed a ton of putbacks as well…still stuggling a bit from the charity stripe…what in the world has happened to our shooting…isn’t that 3 straight games with sub par shooting? Is it the system? They seemed to have no offensive rhythm. If Gordon can no longer shoot, may as well let Jimmer fire away. You know its a bad shooting night with Rivers is your best looking shooter…what happened to Ryno??? Hurt to watch this one tonight so I hope they are better in person tomorrow!
the bench is useless. smh. whether its rivers, fredette, babbit. smh (ajinca played well and and of course Ryno).
when unibrow is in foul trouble the whole team is in trouble
What’s Luke Babbitt??? Are you kidding me???
one can argue that Rivers, Fredette, Miller and Babbitt dont even belong in the NBA. lol
