Michael and I address all the losing and the fact he’s joined the Fire Monty club. How hot should Monty Williams seat be? We also spend some time on Carmelo in the Knicks game, and a bit of time on Tyreke Evans and if he’s worth his contract, as well as rank the various Pelican guards.
Plus, I get to read the entire roster of Pierre Jackson’s new Turkish squad!

woke up early this morning to listen to this, was not disappointed!
It’s great hearing this now we’re talking.

There is a question mark after the podcast title, not an exclamation mark. Listen to our points and conclusion, then discuss.
I’m not on bored with firing Monty, I would rather let his contract run out, but if we were to replace our assistant coaches with hungry up and coming ones keeping the training coach that the players get along with so well. you could keep a few others but they don’t seem to mesh well with Monty other than Randy Ayers
Monty is the lowest paid coach in the NBA his buyout is peanuts.I hope change comes soon.As for your idea of changes in his staff would make sense but Monty is still captain of that ship and new navagators wont guide it as much because he is still hitting those glaciers.
Pelsdachamps its not really glaciers he is hitting its more like he drives from NOLA to Gonzales for Cabela’s and accidently turns the wrong way and ends up in Denham at Bass Pro. he’s almost there but bass pro isn’t cabelas. like all of the close games we have lost recently in the 4th quarter
Having a hard time understanding attacking Monty’s defense first coaching and substituting in the last three games, when defensive improvement was a huge, if not the primary, reason why the Pelicans went 8-5 leading up to the All-Star Game.
xman20002000 Michael McNamara We will explain question marks in a future article. Sorry about that.
Great podcast.
Its so sad the way some of you Pelicans fans have to be coddled & pacified. Coaches catch bad breaks all the time but the excuses will only pile up. I don’t want to lose another amazing once in a generation type player. I’m choosing Anthony Davis over Monty.
I want Monty fired but remember this another 19 year old rookie is not going help this team so stop with all tank talk.
Avery Johnson most likely will be next head coach he’s been tight with the Benson family since 2006.In his defense when he was coaching Mavs & Nets he had deal with power struggles with Mark Cuban, the Nets new ownership & gm Billy King. With the Pels might be a better situation because Benson don’t trust Monty so far and the results on the court despite the injuries are proof that he’s not a fit for this team.If Avery bring in better results in his first season if he’s the next head coach that is i think most of us will say it maybe wasn’t a bad hiring after all.Another thing they’ve to do next season is get a real basketball guy in the front office Donnie Walsh or Steve Kerr for example.
At times like this, I can’t help but get a bit paranoid.
I’m starting to come up with “conspiracy theories”
1. Perhaps Monty is trying to sabotage games by putting out 2-big lineups with no spacing (limiting/frustrating Tyreke), terrible rotations and putting Roberts on an All-Star John Wall at the end of games. (rather than Rivers which WE ALL KNOW is a better defender)
2. Would this be due to trying to keep the pick and bolster the 3/5 or to give the younger players a “brotherhood-type chemistry” when he inevitably is let go at the end of the season?
3. Is Dell involved in this? If so, would this mean he is supporting Monty in these decisions? Is he THE REASON for these decisions?
Either way, I am looking forward to next season and a much improved team. Whether it be with a lottery pick, a new coach, a strengthened existing roster, or any combination of these options.
My paranoia also leads to my intrigue.
