Game On: New Orleans Pelicans at Milwaukee Bucks

The Pelicans have lost two straight games, but a game against the Milwaukee Bucks right before the All Star break might be just what the doctor ordered. The Bucks are the worst. I could be more specific and say what they are the worst at, but I’m pretty sure that phrase nails it. They are really bad. They are so bad that they are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just 9 wins and a winning percentage below 18. Yeah, they’re that bad. In all fairness, they have had some awful luck with injuries (sound familiar?), but I’m not sure they’d really be that much better with a healthy O.J. Mayo, Caron Butler, or Luke Ridnour.

I’m not even going to break down the stats for this one. I will tell you that the Bucks have the second worst offensive rating and the third worst defensive rating. Saying they do anything well is a stretch. The best thing about the Bucks might be their intriguing young forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (yes, that is spelled correctly). The Greek freak is the definition of raw, but it seems like he is good for one highlight play a night, so the Bucks have that going for them, which is nice.

All joking aside, the Pelicans should win this one, and I think they almost need to win tonight. I understand that we have had injuries and that we are on a road trip. I also know this is the last game before the All Star break, but none of that should matter. The Pelicans are better than this team, and these are the types of games a young team needs to learn to win if they ever hope to compete in the playoffs.

Enjoy the game and get ready for the All Star festivities this week in New Orleans.
