The New Orleans Pelicans opened their home preseason schedule with a win in Biloxi over the Atlanta Hawks, 105-73. The Hawks never led after the Pelicans opened on a 9-0 run. Davis and Anderson scored at least 20 points each, while Morrow, Rivers, Aminu, and Holiday scored at least 10.

A 56% FG% and 18 of 21 from the line were high spots. 21 turnovers was the dark spot of the day.

There were no injuries in the game.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis continued his high level of preseason performance. 23 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block, 2 steals, 4 turnovers, 4 fouls in 27 minutes. He had a nice alley-oop from Roberts and showed nice effort during his 3 quarters.

Greg Stiemsma, Arinze Onuaku, Jeff Withey

Jason Smith tweaked his hip, so he did not play. He should be ready for Thursday against the Thunder.

Steimsma started the game better than the other 3. He went 1 of 2 from the field, blocked a shot, and grabbed 3 rebounds in the first, committing just one foul. He added 2 rebounds and an assist in his 2:30 in the second quarter. He added another rebound later bringing his total to 6.

Arinze Onuaku’s first 3 minutes saw 2 of 2 free throws, 2 fouls, and a turnover. It did not really get much better afterwards. He grabbed 2 rebounds, but had 5 fouls and 3 turnovers (some were the same) in just 10 minutes.

Withey looked better. 6 points on 4 shots over 10 minutes. 6 rebounds, 1 steal, no turnovers.
