For the first time ever, our site will be putting on a watch party in both New Orleans AND Baton Rouge.
For those of you in Baton Rouge who are avid readers of our site – we haven’t forgotten about you! On the night of the NBA draft, we’ll be teaming up with Pluckers Wing Bar to put on a watch party. The details:
WHAT: The Bourbon Street Shots NBA Draft Party – Baton Rouge Edition
WHEN: Thursday, June 27th, from 5:30 ’til 8:30
WHERE: Pluckers Wing Bar on Bluebonnet – 6353 Bluebonnet Blvd.
WHO: Fans of all ages
SPECIALS: “All you can eat” boneless wings for $13.99, specially priced 34 oz. Mother Plucker Mugs, $5.50 Patron Margaritas, & $8.00 Patron Mexican Martinis (age 21 and up to drink, of course)

The plan right now is for myself (Mason), Jason Calmes (42) and Michael Pellissier (the new guy) to be our site representation in Baton Rouge. If for no other reason, come on out so I don’t have to spend the entire night alone with them. And I mean, really… who doesn’t love boneless wings?
(FYI: This event will not interfere with the College World Series. The third and final game of the CWS Championship – if necessary – would be held on Wednesday, June 26th.)

I’d be interested to know where most BSS readers are from. There might be enough fans in the bigger cities surrounding NOLA (e.x. Dallas, Memphis, Little Rock) for those people to organize smaller watch parties.
Nicks65 that’s a good idea, Nicks. Brainstorm and let me know if you can think of a way to do that. I’ll be thinking as well.
palochak Nicks65 Here is the only idea I came up with. We could post a google survey with four questions, first name, email, location, and are you interested in organizing or contacting other Pelicans fans about events? We could then send out an email to those who said yes they were interested in organizing, and they could contact the rest of the respondents from their city. Maybe we would even have little BSS groups in a couple of different cities. There would be so few people in each city though that I doubt there will be a whole lot of need to organize any event. It will most likely just be, “Hey, let’s meet at this sports bar.” Thoughts?
Nicks65 That’s pretty close to what I’m thinking as well. I’m communicating with 42 on this and I’ll be coordinating something before the draft. Stay tuned to the site: I’ll find a way to do something, hopefully well before the draft
Nicks65 I’ll wager I’m the only active BSS reader in Phoenix. I party alone. Or I can crash Suns fan’s parties when they blow their pick ahead of us.
Nicks65 London England here, I go to bed at 4 am after the games are done and spend most of my day at school exhausted, will be doing the same for the draft

This is a really cool idea.
I am looking forward to meeting the Pelican Faithful from Baton Rouge. We have so work today people. My goal is to get the Pelicans more popular in Baton Rouge than LSI Women’s Hoops. Let’s get it done.
I will be repping the Pelicans on draft night at Buffalo Wild Wings with a few friends (granted Mavs fans but you take what you get in South Dakota). I will be doing it big regardless. As commander of the 25th Pelican Squadron, I must do my part to assist in the takeover.
