Game On: Hornets @ Lakers

From here on out every game is a must win for the Lakers; depending on your opinion of  tanking, every game might be a must lose for the Hornets. Normally, the pro-tanking fan set that aside against the Lakers but the fans on that side of the debate (which I bet the majority of you are at this point) will probably set that aside tonight a root for a loss. Quite the conundrum.

If you hate tanking well then Monty Williams is right with you tonight and I promise he’ll do everything he can to tank (see what I did there?) the Lakers’ playoff chances. We’ve seen Monty introduce new pieces to his offense as the season has gone on; recently, Monty has been putting it all together and, at times, the team has looked great offensively. Even when the team blew a 25 point lead against the Lakers a month ago, Monty Williams introduced an a tricky set which started out with a Horns formation before quickly switching to an inverted offense.

Steve Nash is listed as a game time decision but is most likely out while, in a bit of a surprise, Metta World Peace has also been listed as a game time decision. UPDATE: Nash is OUT and World Peace is definitely playing.

No keys to the game tonight. But have some fun in the comments.

  1. Anyone who is saying any of Henry, Roberts, Vasquez, or Gordon is gone already needs to watch the tape of this game. Henry is doing all of the little things that don’t show up in the box score and guarding Kobe exclusively. (He has the highest plus score of any Hornet tonight for a reason.) Some of Robert’s assists to Davis are so good he should get credit for two assists. Vasquez has a double-double. (I could see him starting at SF next year or playing PG, SG, and SF off the bench.) And Gordon is driving well, scoring, and even has a few assists. If only he had more/better talent to pass to when he drives.

  2. I want to see Gordon as a Pelican in 2013/14.. why waste the few years of waiting for him to get healthy and than dump in the second he finally gets healthy.
The Guy can play, He can drive, and he cant miss from the line.
We should be very very very thankful Gordon has been injured. If he was healthy all last season, we wouldnt have Davis. If he was fully healthy this year, We may not have a shot at getting Smart or company.

This has been a god-bless in disguise, Next season, if Gordon can have a good off-season. We enter 2013/2014 season with a starting lineup of

    Lopez, Davis, Anderson, Gordon, Vasquez/Smart

I take the famous words from Matt Damon “how do you like them apples”
