I’m in favor of building around Anthony Davis with younger guys, making it known to him that it will be his team in the next 2-3 yrs. I know we would like too see the team in the playoffs as soon as possible, but having a group of young guys together while the team grows and gets better is better for team chemistry and players wanting to stay with the franchise like we are seeing with Durant, Westbrook & Ibaka in OKC. Which comes to Eric Gordon and whether to trade him now.Gordon has this Center piece/Team leader tag on him because he is our best player. Gordon is just not that guy, he is not mentally strong and doesn’t have leadership qualities. Often does not show any emotion during games or while sitting on the bench. Small market team cant have a player taking up 14mil of the salary when the player often brings up possibility of been traded, and is in and out of the line up which cause chemistry problems. The hornets have been good at keeping things quiet before a trade goes through so fingers crossed something goes down.
