  1. Much better. Previous format was ok I guess, but the redesign is much improved. I think the font size in the forum was too large previously necessitating endless scrolling. Smaller font now allows viewing more posts at the same time on the screen which I think may increase poster interactions.

    Cheers.

  2. Sometimes, I miss the super dark and gloomy design of the site from back in the day. Was that the work of Niall Doherty?

However, I’m really digging the new design. Keep up the great work!

  3. Very nice. I like how all stories are still listed but the featured pieces are more easily recognized by being put at the top. It’s just different enough to be a nice change while not so much that there’s a huge learning curve of locating everything. A very nice look to go along with the great content here.

  4. In the Pelicans rebranding post the comments are cut off on the right side. Using Internet Explorer.

Other than that, I like the format the posts are in on the home page with pics.

    Good job!

  5. Overall, a big improvement. Wish the buttons at the top to page to the next and previous stories were still there. (Maybe they are and I can’t find them?)

  6. Hey guys; like the redesign alot, but my home computer runs IE 9 and there are several problems. As I scroll down the page a little box that contains the thumbs up like/dislike options for facebook disengages and scrolls down the page with me, and blocks my view of signficiant parts of the text. Also the far right margins for messages are blocked off so I can’t read the last few letters of each line. My work computer (don’t tell the boss) runs fine (not sure which version of IE it runs) and I really like the new site at work (again, don’t tell the boss), but at home these are pretty significant problems, which will matter most for me during the weekends …. unless I go into work to watch the game and catch your analysis (all together now …. don’t tell the boss). All in all, though, I’m digging the new site design; sleek and mod-looking.

  7. I love the new site, but there are two things I miss from the old site. 1) I liked how at the top of the article which you were currently reading it would have the previous article and the next article to choose as a link. 2) On the old site, when you would click on the writers’ names, a short biography of the writers would appear instead of their latest articles. I loved Jason’s “Yo” for his summary.

    • We’re going to likely add in the links at the top and bottom. The related posts serve a purpose too, but if people want the sequence, we will toss that in the hopper.

We’ll get the bios on a separate page soon. It’s created, just gotta move it. By the way, the menu was on the old site.

      The “Yo.” has been expanded.

You see that the mail is fixed?

  8. once I got to the bottom of this page, after reading all the comments. I decided I would like a return to the top of the page button. I am using Chrome and the site will not not load all the pictures. I am sure that is being fixed. All in all the new site is amazing, great work!

  9. I like the new design. However, everytime I view an article, I now have the bar with the “Facebook and Google LIKE” option that sits in the middle-right of the screen…even as I scroll up and down. Unfortunately, it covers part of the right side of the text. I have to scroll to up and down to move the bar in order to be able to see all the text on the screen.

I am using the current Internet Explorer. I haven’t seen this problem on other sites or the old one. Still, the design looks good. I just hope this is fixed.

      • Wanted to let you know that I fixed the floating facebook/twitter/gmail bar by turning off compatibility mode for IE. No sure why it defaulted on…but the bar went correctly to the left of the text.

      • Great. I noted that down as a thing to do, but this will save us a ton of time now. We’ll still try to get it working in any mode, just with lower priority.

  10. since the redesign, i can’t listen to the podcasts on computer. Also, takes ten minutes to load on iphone. Admittedly, I have old equipment and programs but everything worked fine until now.
Also, have the thumbs up issue. When I turn off compatability the comments sections gets shrunk to 4 inches and cuts off the text.

  11. I usually don’t like to comment multiple times but I wanted to say that I liked having a ‘comments’ with stories on the home page to go quickly to the comments. On occasion, I like to check the comment section multiple times. I know I’m nitpicking but I liked that feature so I thought mention it, but the redesign is really nice. And I really appreciate my Chrome bookmark of the website having a logo now; all the links on my bookmark bar now can just have an icon and no words.
