Monty Williams On Eric Gordon Injury Situation: “Blame LeBron James”

In the pre-game press conference Monty Williams answered a question about Eric Gordon’s injury situation by placing blame on LeBron James.

Plus Game On: Jazz @ Hornets

There aren't many players dressing in the Hornets locker room tonight.

In response to a question about whether there was anything new to report on about Eric Gordon’s knee injury, Hornets coach Monty Williams responded that he did not, and that:

“It is what it is. Blame LeBron James”.

I concur. We should start blaming everything on LeBron. I used to only blame him for Mardi Gras weather problems and missing tan socks, but now I’ve included injuries to Hornets players on my short list of stuff LeBron should be blamed for.

In other, more real news, the Hornets host the Jazz tonight. Emeka and Kaman are still game time decisions, but it sounds like Kaman is more likely than Okafor (my opinion entirely). If neither go, it’s only going to be an 8-man active roster.

(update– As I thought, Okafor will sit and Kaman will play).

Jason Smith is still out with post concussion symptoms. Apparently he’s still having some light sensitivity problems, and as Monty said, nowadays if there’s even one lingering symptom from concussions you have to sit out. He gave the impression that if it was 20 years ago when he was playing, he’d be out there. Damn doctors trying to help people…

Other Stuff

  • Jarrett Jack is in the house, wearing a suit.
  • We’re the 9th worst NBA team in history through 27 games.
  • Ayon and Aminu will likely start if Kaman and Okafor are out.
  • Monty answered another question about keys to the game by saying something along the lines of (and I’m paraphrasing), “We need to score more points and allow less.’
