The Hornets have waived shooting guard Trey Johnson.

The Hornets have waived Trey Johnson. Johnson appeared in 11 regular season games this season, averaging just under two points and just over one rebound per game in five and a half minutes per contest. He was 8-14 on the year from the field and 5-5 from the line.

The Jackson State University product has appeared in 23 career NBA games in three seasons of play with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers and Hornets. He has career averages of 2.6 points and 0.9 rebounds in 7.3 minutes of play.

The Hornets roster now stands at 14, meaning they now have room to take on another player now in either a trade or via free agency. This move, in combination with the sitting of Chris Kaman on Wednesday night, will likely fuel speculation that Dell Demps has a signing or trade up his sleeve.

I said, THIS WILL LIKELY FUEL SPECULATION ABOUT A SIGNING OR TRADE…
