« Hornets Beat: We’re Still Locked Out
Prolonged Lockout Not All Bad for New Orleans »
New Orleans Hornets 2011-2012 Schedule
The New Orleans Hornets schedule for 2011-2012 has been finalized, despite the current lockout. Chris Paul and friends will open at home against the Chicago Bulls on November 2nd, and will wrap things up April 18th against Memphis. In between those two, there are a lot of other games, but one thing stands out– The Hornets receive no love nationally.
A quick glance at the TV schedule reveals what should be an exciting TNT televised game in LA against the Clippers on Thanksgiving, an ESPN televised game in New York on February 17th, and… and…
Are you kidding me? Zero nationally televised home games on the major stations?
All in all the Hornets are slated to appear on TNT and ESPN once each. They don’t make an appearance on ABC. It is of no consolation that they will be on NBA TV six times.
Thanks for the shaft, everyone. On behalf of Hornets fans everywhere, we appreciate it.
For those scoring at home, that means that right now there are 73 games (65 from CST) slated to be televised, which means that we can look forward to 9 games in which the Hornets simply will not be available for local fans to watch on TV. That makes sense, considering the Bees made the playoffs last year and have one of the biggest superstars in the game.
Frankly, this is turning into a bad recurring joke.
