Hornets247 Playoff Watch Party (part 2)

After an awesome first watch party that saw the Hornets beat down the Lakers, we have decided that we want more. We’re getting the crew back together in the same spot, and we’re hoping for the same  result. We’ll be hosting a playoff watch party, and there will of course be free booze (this is New Orleans, after all).

We'll be there on Wednesday. Will you?

Who: Anyone wearing Hornets gear and cheering for the Hornets against the Los Angeles Lakers.

What: A playoff watch party with FREE BEER and pizza specials for Hornets fans, hosted by Hornets247′s Joe Gerrity and 42 (who has a real name you can learn if you come). All you have to do is take 5 seconds to sign up for our site, and you get FREE BEER, and a chance to win FREE PLAYOFF TICKETS.

Where: 7537 Maple Street, New Orleans, LA 70118

When: Party starts at 8:30. Game Starts at 9:30

Why: Because we love you and want to hang out oh so very badly!

Video from the last watch party after the jump!

Notes

  • If you are wearing Lakers gear and/or cheering for the Lakers, you will not have access to the free beer.
  • The Hornets drinking game rules will be posted and on display.
  • 18 to enter, 21 to drink. I feel like I’m legally required to say that.
  • Did I mention there is a Hornets playoff watch party event on Facebook?
  • There are rumors that some Bee-zanies will be in attendance yet again.
  • Two Hornets representatives will be in attendance yet again. Thanks, Hornets!

If the Hornets beat the Lakers 4-0, I will… (click this and answer)

    • Damned good photo.

Good idea to get out of the entryway. We have smart cookies out there.

      Classic photo. That’s refrigerator material.

  1. Dude, had a blast with everyone last night, truly appreciate the site putting it together and getting the other sites (swarmandsting and atthehive) to join in. See y’all on Wednesday!

  2. Jake is spot on, yesterday was so much fun. Can’t wait to do it again on Wednesday! We’ll probably get a random influx of the Tulane/Loyola crowd since it’s on a weeknight instead of a Sunday afternoon; I’m sure the place will be packed!

  3. looks FANtastic!! Guys, keep posting videos like this; it’s especially needed for Hornets fans stuck in locations far removed from NOLA like me … makes us feel a part of the action, so to speak.

    • Hah, that’s where the Zanies got their idea for the “Hornets WIN___*insert team name here* LOSE!”

You can kind of hear it at the 2:48 mark of the video posted above 🙂

  4. MANG looks like yall had fun. I stopped by the official Hornets watch party at carretas, (no offense Hornets organizaton) not exactly my scene. Like many Hornets functions and things its aimed towards the younger crowd, with kiddy jumpy things and little games and such. Fun for the kids but feels kinda awkward for guys in their 20’s looking to drink and watch the game and get loud. (Second note although carretas food may bite the big one, they gotta a pretty nice bar in there) regardless me and my boys ended up rolling back to my house to watch the game drink some alchy and curse freely. Its too hard to get to New Orleans for these things being in Mandy and working. Sundays and Weds, i need some fridays and saturdays. Ill do all in my power to make it out but its gonna be hard
    :/

    • Seantonio: pick a bar, post it here, hold down the northshore!

Or, northshore folks: get a Designated driver and carpool. Free beer offsets the gas…

  5. Great stuff.

    Really takes me back . . . Like it was yesterday . . .

If we’re going to get students in there, they are likely out-of-towners and maybe Lakers fans. We need bodies to run those fine people to the bar across the street.

    • 42, I looked at this photo and i just realized that I believe I know you. Not personally, but you are friends with my cousin. I’m Greg J.’s son. It’s pretty funny that I never knew it was you behind that name the whole time I was reading your articles.

      • Sure it’s me?

This is why you should always be nice on the internet, people!

I’m a big Greg fan, and your brothers. I’ll see you at a function for the kids eventually. Next season I’ll make sure Greg has a game with me and we’ll watch one together (those are me and your cousin’s seats you guys get sometimes).

  6. I’m gonna be driving in from Mandeville, but I’ll be there Wednesday!!! Look forward to meeting everyone 🙂

  7. have the playoff ticket winners from the raffle been announced yet? did that happen at the watch party?

    • That ticket winner was announced in the chat: mbdtf.

HelenaNOLA won the guess-the-score tickets at the Sunday watch party.

We’re doing some tickets at the watch party.

Journal Contest winner will be announced soon (chosen already I think).

    • Bug, when you come to town, I’ll take you to any restaurant you want.

Awesome comment, and the first direct comparison.

I’m assuming you mean youthful and toothful Mick who jumped off garages . . .

      • Yet another reason for me to save up for a trip to Nawlins!

Of course I mean the toothful Mic.

For a moment though, I thought you look like Robin Williams.

  8. A bunch of fools cheering for some bees, while sitting and drinking in a bar?? Oh boy, I wish I could be there, too!!! Fu**ing Atlantic Ocean!

  9. Am i the only one who wants people who are going to be in the Hive on Sunday to bring vuvezelas and create a buzzing sound that would make the Lakers and their fans annoyed and possibly deaf?

    • I tried to bring one in with the Zanies, they’ll take it away 🙁 Supposedly there can’t be any artificial noisemakers allowed in any NBA arena, unless approved by the NBA.

      • Well that sucks. Thats like the perfect noise maker for Hornets games. It sounds like buzzing

  10. Can’t wait, guys. I was in Florida and missed the first one, but I’m not making the same mistake this time. This is gonna be great.
