Game On: Hawks @ Hornets

The Hornets take on the Hawks tonight in what is listed as a home game, even though it will be played at East Tennessee State University.  It will be the second game of a back to back, following last night’s 101-98 loss to the Pacers.

David West is expected to sit again tonight, resting his sprained right wrist. No need to worry Hornets fans, West is doing okay and if it were a regular season game he would be cleared to go. Jason Smith will start in his place, looking to solidify his spot as the Hornets backup PF.

Marcus Thornton will be looking to break out of his slump, as he has been thoroughly outplayed by Marco Belinelli thus far this preseason. Thornton is shooting 18% from the field over the first four games and only averaged 4.3 PPG. Expect to see a lot of Pops, DJ, and Watkins as well as the Hornets start to make decisions on what their final roster will look like.

On a side note, the game will not be shown on League Pass or locally, so our game recap will come from listening to it on the radio. If anybody has a chance to watch it live, post some comments right here and give us your observations.
