I like this

Two weeks without a post, man. I think that might be the longest drought I've had here since the get go, almost four years ago. That's not to say I'm letting this thing slip. On the contrary, these past two weeks have seen me making some moves to ensure that this here site only gets funkier. Much much funkier.

So let's see if you can guess where I am right now. It shouldn't be too tough…

The first person I met in this town two weeks ago was a stripper. That's if you don't count the crazy lady out on the street who told me she just got out of the hospital. I've been hearing a lot of jazz music and eating a lot of seafood. Oysters, fried shrimp and gumbo. All fantastic. I rode the streetcar twice and cycled the worst bike in the world several times. I've gotten Bourbon faced on shit street with some people I can't remember. I think we had breakfast at 4am in the casino.

Yes yes, I'm finally in New Orleans.

I'm the guy on the right

Been here these two weeks and I've already got a million stories. Maybe two million. The people are great, the aforementioned food rocks, and the atmosphere is just awesome. I am simply loving every single minute of it. If you're reading this and you're not already in New Orleans, all I can say is "Why the hell not?"

Ok, sure, this city has got a ton of problems — I just got the Hurricane K aftermath tour today and two years on there's still plenty of rough stuff to take in — but so far this whole experience has exceeded my best expectations. I can only imagine what it will be like when the Hornets are actually playing some ballgames and I manage to find some ladies who are impressed by my ability to name our last dozen draft picks while staring at their breasts.

But yeah, that's what's going down. Kind of ironic though that I get here and actually end up posting less regularly, huh? That will hopefully change soon as I get some way settled.

I'm still way out of the loop on all this draft stuff. Nick Young could be black or white, 6-1 or 6-9 for all I know. I'll try get some kind of a clue in the next couple of days and see if we can come up with a half-educated prediction. Feel free to throw names at me in the comments. I need all the help I can get.
