Half-assed Preview: Warriors @ Hornets

Hmm, another opponent comes to town on the second night of a back-to-back, having just beat the Mavericks in Dallas. Of course, it's a different town they're coming to, and the Warriors just squeaked by the Mavs last night, unlike the whooping Houston gave them on Saturday.

Anyways, the important thing is that Baron Davis and the Warriors meet the Hornets at 7pm this evening in OKC. If the Hornets win, they move to 4-0 for the first time in franchise history, and you can bet Baron would love nothing more than to stop that from happening.

Baron gets blisters pointing

After that win in Dallas, G-State are now 2-2 on the season, with their other win against Portland, and losses to Utah and the Lakers.

Our old pain in the ass buddy Baron has been having a strange season so far. Check his game-by-game numbers…

Mins FGs 3Ps Rebs Asts Stls TOs Pts
vs. DAL 48 9-22 2-8 7 8 2 4 26
vs. UTA 25 1-9 0-1 2 6 1 3 2
vs. POR 40 6-15 0-1 4 9 2 0 17
vs. LAL 35 6-19 0-4 4 6 1 3 18
Average 37 .338 .143 4.3 7.3 1.5 2.5 15.8

Ok, so they're not that strange, save for that game against Utah. No idea what happened there. Looks like Baron is still launching away those long-bombs, though. Some things never change.

6-3 guard Monta Ellis is tied with Baron for the team lead in scoring, but he's dropping his 15.8ppg in just 27 minutes per game off the bench. J-Rich and Troy Murphy are both averaging about 14ppg, while about five guys are averaging 5+ rebounds for the Warriors.

Some dude named Matt Clayton over at The Oklahoman played a simulation of this evening's game via NBA 07 on the PS2, and the Hornets came out on top. I mention this not because it has any relevance to what's going to happen. I'm just amazed something like that made the papers.

I'm going to shut up now. Check these sites for more stuff about stuff…
