The Raptors beat the Hornets

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, the Hornets up and lose a home game to the Toronto Raptors. The second smallest crowd in the OKC's lengthy pro basketball history turned out yesterday to see our guys get beat, 94-77.

More of this would be nice

So that's a four game losing streak. That's an average of 77 points in those four games. And that's an 8-7 record, good enough for the tenth-best record in the West. If the Playoffs started today…

Well, this sucks. That's what I'm getting at. If you can stomach it, here's some news and notes and stuff…

  • Linkage: box | recap | video | photos
  • The Raptors bench killed us, pouring in 45 points. Andrea Bargnani dropped a career-high 16 off the pine. Meanwhile, the Hornets bench scored 23 points. Given the blowout, everyone got some burn, including Marcus Vinicius. He made his debut on Saturday in Dallas but went scoreless. This time he dropped a triple for his first NBA points.
  • Chris Bosh and Anthony parker (who?) led the Rap attack with 19 point each. Bosh also had 14 boards.
  • For the Hornets, everyone played crap. Chris Paul may have scored 16 and dished 11, but he still played crap. Tyson Chandler grabbed 17 rebounds, but he also played crap. Desmond Mason, Rasual Butler, Bobby Jackson. Crap, crap, crap.
  • From Hornets.com's game report

When Rasual Butler got the first-string nod from head coach Byron Scott on Tuesday, Butler became the 10th different Hornet to start, through only 15 games… The Hornets have used a different starting lineup in each of the past six games

  • Man, 4-0 seems like a looooong time ago.
  • Darnell Mayberry is so pissed off with the way the Hornets have been playing that he uses the word "heck" in today's Oklahoman. PG-13, people.
  • HoopsAddict.com's Ryan McNeill serves up a podcast on the game. Great if you're a Raptors fan.
  • Some Raptor blogs also chip in with game reports: RaptorsHQ.com, RaptorsDen

And that's enough of that.

The Hornets just have one game in the next seven days, which is a really good thing given the injuries. The Bulls come to town on Friday, which should be fun. As long as Peja doesn't wash his hands in the meantime, we might get a win.
