The Hornets got their post-All-Star schedule off to a winning start last night by routing the lowly Charlotte Bobcats, 105-88. The result launched the Hornets into the eighth and final Playoff spot in the Western Conference, a whole half game ahead of previous occupants the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Whatever

Shit, wait a minute.

That's not what happened at all. That's what should have happened, but of course our Hornets are way too fucked up to capitalize on the Memphises and Charlottes on the schedule, the type of opponents that teams like Dallas and Phoenix feast on.

But not our Hornets. Got a winning record? We'll kick your ass. Lottery bound? We'll bend over.

Moving swiftly on, the Hornets play the Nets in New Jersey today at 6:30pm Central. They've got a 25-29 record, identical to ours. Honeybee-lover Jason Kidd has missed a few games before the All-Star break, but is expected to play. These Nets have lost six of their last nine, the last of which was a week ago in Toronto. Some stud named Bostjan Nachbar went off for 26 points and 8 rebounds in that one.

I'm too pissed off to give you anything else today. I thought this team had turned the corner, but obviously not. No idea what to expect tonight, but nothing would surprise me. Linkage…
