What team has a dumb Gen. Mngr.? Ask them to take him with out asking for our first round pick. Lol

Hill has no trade value. You are not going to get any team with any level on intelligence to trade for a guy that is owed $25 Million total for this year and next, that averages a triple single and can’t shoot.

I think you are discrediting the reliability of Johnson in his minutes and production. They are on par with Hill and Johnson will absolutely compete for his minutes. Also look for the Pels to include Hill in a trade as well.

Comment on Introducing “Gentry Ball”: A Look Into Early Offense and The Fit of Elfrid Payton by Analyzing Elfrid Payton's fit with the New Orleans Pelicans - NBA News http://www.bourbonstreetshots.com/2018/07/16/introducing-gentry-ball-a-look-into-early-offense-and-the-fit-of-elfrid-payton/#comment-102296 Mon, 20 Aug 2018 21:14:43 +0000 http://www.bourbonstreetshots.com/?p=56977#comment-102296 […] An analysis of “Gentry Ball” by Kumar also revealed some promising trends surrounding Payton’s game. As he points out: “The bulk of Payton’s offense has come from the “Average” range. Yet we can see clearly that Payton is at his most efficient in the early portions of the shot clock, or what I like to call the “Early Shot Range” (24-15 seconds).” […]

Comment on Do The Pelicans Need To Save Cap Space for Julius Randle? by zombian http://www.bourbonstreetshots.com/2018/07/14/do-the-pelicans-need-to-save-cap-space-for-julius-randle/#comment-101899 Wed, 08 Aug 2018 20:13:54 +0000 http://www.bourbonstreetshots.com/?p=56971#comment-101899 Nice read. Sums up a lot of your thinking that is difficult to find, separating the player from the vacuum into the reality.

I was definitely thinking he was a one year rental, but I agree that at least compared to his value at the moment, it seems unlikely another team will blow us out of the water with an amazing offer.

There’s also the possibility that being on a playoff team (we hope) will become important to him as well. How many of those other teams are playoff locks by next offseason? One, if Embiid continues to stay healthy?

It’ll be great to see the three man big rotation that Asik, Ryno, and AD were supposed to be.

I had been wondering about a question, but I was amazed that you guys answered it and covered it on this latest podcast. I had similar thoughts to how many minutes they may play Randall niko and Davis at the same time. All 3 can switch on the 4 and 5 and I think they can be effective on the 3. It gives us a drastic size advantage. You mentioned guys like lebron and Durant at the 3, and at that point I think Davis is the primary defender. I think we have a very diverse cast and can roll out multiple lineups based off match ups. Great podcast today. Thanks!

It is great to read someone who actually did their homework! I watch at least 80 Magic games/season and they have zero player development, zero discipline, zero accountability. The last 2 seasons they have focused on making Aaron Gordon into their super star while neglecting his development and the development of any other of the young guys on the team.
EP can fly down the court with the ball always looking for the open man. He is not a high volume shooter, only about 2 3-point shots per game but last season he averaged about 37.5%. His ability to get to the rim and his willingness to kick out offsets his lack of 3-point volume.
If you watch highlights from his rookie season he defended baseline to baseline and was a nightmare for opposing point guards. His weakness on defense is that he likes to play for steals and rebounds instead of playing tight defense on his man. With good coaching this should be easily correctable.
I think EP and the Pelicans were made for each other and I have to figure out a way to watch their games without giving my wife a coronary. Good luck to you both in the upcoming season.

Personally I want Randle to fully blossom in NOLA as the multi-positional defender, rim running, rebounding floor spacing menace I believe he can be. A sort of Draymond Green/DeAndre Jordan hybrid would be the peak level. If that player is in there it also makes Niko more expendable, as much as we love him, to move for an available wing.
